...not that I believe a spectator-free sport would survive where 2/3 of the participants risk death

Such a sport probably wouldn't work for in-person spectating anyway... other than maybe watching a video feed from the pits. Super-sonic speeds at ground level would require a lot of room.

The trailer reminds me of some of the older anime where battle/death races are the focus. Battle Angel comes to mind.

Anakin Skywalker did it better in Star Wars Episode I. A pretty sad rip-off of that scene, really.

You guys just keep on picking apart perfectly good complete fantasy short films - and I'll keep on simply enjoying them for what they are without out all the critical chest pounding.

Thanks for sharing. I was now entertained for 2.5 more minutes this morning.

Well it was visually impressive and entertaining, but unfortunately it was also cheesy and hollywoodish.

Should have been tagged 'watch a 2.5 minute Virgin Mobile ad'.

Funny enough the guy said he wasn't sponsored by Virgin, he just wanted to use some real-world logos.

He used only one on everything and it wasn't racing-related.

Personally I would have gone with fictional logos.
