My local scrap yard is paying $0.00 per pound. I pick up some 1" box tubing for a welding project for $.20 per pound.

It's a good time to buy!

I once got over $700 for a 72 Caddy Deville Convertible. If it had not been completely rotted out, it would have been a nice cruiser

On the upside is that the U-Pull-It yards are full of cars that they are wanting to turn into cash. $100 a cart days found me with a 33K mile engine to replace my blown up one, hood, doors and a fender for the Crown Vic (right color too!), Saturn wiper motor for the 58 Ford project, 5 speed computer for the 91 Mustang, exhaust manifolds for the Cobra motor, handfull of emblems for decorating the shop, a set of LED tail lights (I don't know why!...they are neat! Trailer maybe!?!) and 2 sets of Marchal fog lights.

Any one know what platinum (cat converters) is going for?

I have the 2 converters from the 95 legacy I pulled the engine from. Wondering if its worth the trip in the snow now, or if I should wait till spring and make a scrap run with the rest of my stuff.

Thanks Steve
