I think that usually refers to cream chipped beef, which is also quite tasty.
Nah, scrapple is different meats of a pig processed into a brick which is then sliced and fried up and served on toast. Tastes wonderful, just dont ask what is in it!
I've never bought it, but had it when camping with friends. I like it. I never knew what was in it but its pork of some sort?
I love some pork I might have get some the next time Im at the grocery store. I will probably get the same reaction from my wife as when I buy liverwurst. (GROSS!)
It is pork of some sort, think of it this way... its not wasteful and its damn tasty. (you can look it up, but I recommend not if your too squeamish about where your food comes from)
It is not as chewy as sausage, kinda falls apart in your mouth.
MMMMMmmmm
In Cincinnati (and Cincinnati only) there is popular sausage style known as Goetta (get-uh) which is similar to scrapple but instead of adding corn meal, goetta adds oats.

Typical omelet with a side of goetta
I'm pretty sure that I've eaten that under the bridge at Skyway Jack's. That seemed like an appropriate place for it.
Crispy on the outside, mushy on the inside. Mmmmmmm...
Back where I grew up in Morgantown, PA, there is a guy that makes huge batches of his own recipe and then distributes to those lucky enough to get on his 'scrapple list'. About a year ago, my sister got onto the list. If I'm lucky enough to time a visit home within a few days after the scrapple is made I'm able to score a couple of slices.
I'm now just a few hours north and I've never seen it offered in a restaurant, and it's only in a few grocery stores. How far out of south central PA is the stuff available.

Have you tried it? It is really good.
I think scrapple is German in descent, no? My father in law is a scrapple fiend.
Nothing that can't be fixed with a whole lot of maple syrup. But that's the Canadian talking.

Sounds like the sheep have. My guess is that they didn't care much for it.

Traditionally, it's a stomach, and don't forget the heart, lungs, and liver.

The Mid-Atlantic is apparently much like Canada.
And, yes, the German settlers of PA are credited with this disaster.
