I should've checked this thread sooner. I got Ursula's clutch hydraulics sorted last night and decided that Woodward on a sunny Saturday of Dream Cruise weekend was the perfect durability test environment. Fortunately she performed flawlessly. Unfortunately I missed the party. :-(

Wish I had been there. I woke up sick yesterday and decided staying home was a wise choice.

Great time guys and girls, this was the least time I've spent at the actual cruise ever. You have to figure it’s a good party when the beer runs out just as the Aussie is ready to go to sleep. BTW Steve, your car is not so stealth at 4:00am no matter how careful you are!!

The GRM staff really need to set something up next year.

Steve’s TT 996 is brutal. I’ve driven some fast cars in my time, but this is the tops, at least at low(ish) speeds it kills a GT500 Mustang. I’d like to run them side by side from 80-150 ish, it would be interesting. But at low speed it was just violent in the best possible way, sort of like having your brains smashed in by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick (sorry Douglas)

Brent’s Maserati was just sublime. Not as fast, visceral or violent, but very much the consummate GT car. More like the gold brick having been melted down and cast as a martini glass and sipping the lemon with some high quality gin.

Collecting Porsches on your lawn is definitely more classy than garden gnomes. I think.

I never got to check out Jeff’s Firebird, but Erich’s Volvo is freekin mint, it’s unbelievable for a 25 year old unrestored survivor.

Oh, and if anyone wants to park somewhere during the cruise itself, might I suggest Pontiac? Traffic is much lighter there, and parking spots seem to be free and plenty. That's what I plan on doing next year (while I'm not at Adrian's that is)

I had a fun time even if I was surrounded by "to and froms", seriously at one point there were 3 brits, an Aussie and no yanks at the house.

The trip home was eventful, rear tire blew out just outside Ann Arbor, had to get Vince to rescue me with the van and trailer, E36 M3 happens and it was still a great day, let's do it bigger for 2016

Ouch, what caused the blow out? Glad you and Sabine are OK. BTW head over the Dave Estey's hillclimb thread and watch his vid of Okemo. I've just found you and Sabine's destiny. You know you want too.

Wow! Sorry to hear about that. I see cords, and I know you were pretty amazed to have 5k on those Sport Cups, so I have a feeling I know what happened. Anyhow, I claim innocence, there was no wheelspin when I drove it, just brutal acceleration.

I honestly suspect the Detroit roads contributed, kerthump, kerthump, kerthump for miles, strangely the tire on other side shows decent tread still, so I suspect it failed due to damage caused driving on the ragged roads

Well, yeah, there's no denying the awful condition of our roads probably contributed.

Was doing about 75mph on 23 south, the car was remarkably stable, at first I felt the vibration, then as I started to slow it let go completely, the car was very easily controlled.
