There is a police officer in Seattle using, yes using a 1970 Plymouth Satellite as a patrol car. It's a part of the Seattle Police Museum, but it looks like the Dept is allowing him to patrol with it.
Pretty awesome.

That would be fun to drive
I saw a '65 Galaxie cop car on the highway yesterday.
He wears the vintage uniform, too. Baller.
Are there any pics of him wearing the uniform?

I like the way you think.
That is pretty cool. I wish that NC would do that with some of the old marked 5.0 Highway Patrol cars.
Did a TDY @ Ft. Lewis a couple years ago. There is a LOT of vintage iron around. No road salt allowed.

It's awesome right up until some dingbat not paying attention balls it up.
In reply to Grizz:
According to the article the one officer is the only one who drives it.

Not bad if you've got some residual daddy issues.
Oh sweet Jesus I feel some misbehaving' coming' ON!
I think it's great how it makes it easier for him to deal with the people he has to work with in his job. That's really cool.
And totally awesome to see great cars being used and getting out there where everyone can enjoy seeing them in their real element, not just as static displays in some guy's private collections.

And that's not going to stop a knee driving retard in her suv from slamming into it while looking at her latest tweet.
So when will Mount Prospect restore one?

Well she'll have a lot more to deal with than a damaged squad car.

I wanna see what they were doing to that 4 door Volare. Were those ever squad cars?
In reply to mndsm:
Yes there were police package Volares and Aspens available in the '70's. They gave birth to the Diplomat/Gran Fury police cars that were pretty common through to the end of the '80's.

Dude is 30 year veteran of the force. Me thinks he'll look like chief wiggum.

Yeah, I knew about the Diplomat ones, for some strange reason a friend of mine had a police package one. I have this odd fetish for Volares though, and I think I just got a bad idea.....
