Jamie and I are going to starwars today. Should we see it in 3D? I haven't been to the movies since they started offering 3D and I'm not sure if it's worth it. What do you guys think?

It depends, was the movie filmed in 3D or was it added on later.

I saw it in 2D and it was fine. I personally wouldn't spend the extra.

I have not been impressed with any 3d movie I've ever seen. No real difference in experience, except I always get a headache on the drive home from the theatre.

Not a fan of 3D at all.

I saw exactly one 3D movie: Avatar. About 45 minutes into it I had a splitting migraine to the point of vomiting. Never going to happen again.

I also hate how no matter how it's filmed if the director knows it's going to be in 3d they can't resist doing the finger/sword/ball coming at you trope.

Just see it twice and say you saw it in 4D.

3D seems a little pointless to me. I'd much rather have a good plot, interesting characters, and some well done effects or stunts over moronic 3D imagery.

The newer 3D movies are digital and garbage. I can't watch them for more than 20 minutes before my eyes water so bad I may as well close them and not watch another minute of the movie. So, for me, it's a waste.

I saw Starwars in 3D (not my idea). There are a couple of scenes that are unique with it, but in general I would say you tend to not notice it after about 5 min. It does dull the color a bit and action scenes seem to be bit blurry.

Starwars was shot on film and whatever effect that will have is almost certainly destroyed by 3D.

My opinion, no, it adds very little and takes away too much. I don't like it and I am fully capable of perceiving the implied "3D" in a traditional film.

The 3d in Star Wars is well done, and there's a couple "money shots" that are worth it on nerd factor alone, but a good 2d print will be just as satisfying.

Honestly, if I were you, I'd be more concerned with hitting in IMAX. Think there's at least three theaters in Orlando with IMAX showings.

I haven't seen a 3d movie since you had to buy a slurpee to get the glasses so you could watch "creature from the black lagoon" after you kept turning the antenna so you got good enough reception for it to work.

But I have been told that there is a single scene in the new stars war that makes it all worth while.

I don't think any movie has been made that didn't go through a digital conversion process for a long time, and virtually all movie theaters play digital copies these days.

I saw SW7 in 3D, the effects were tasteful.

The only 3D movie I've ever see was Captain EO. Throwing a ball at the audience will never top The King of Pop dancing infront of you.

If given the option I would skip 3D. Although I just got out of an imax showing. That was worth it.

I've seen a few on 3D. You can tel if the quality us there. Avatar was awesome in 3D Imax, but that's the only one that was worth it, so far. If you're going to do it, Imax it.

We went, saw it in 3D. Absolutely loved the movie, kind of meh on the 3D. Wouldn't bother again with that. May go see it in imax though!

I saw Star Wars in 3D imax. It was well done, but I'm not sure its truly worth the premium.

The only film that I've seen in both 3d and 2d that was definitely better in 3d was the most recent Tron movie. FWIW, that movie had very little coming out of the screen effects, and tremendous depth into the picture.

I watch everything in 2D at 24fps, 3D gives me a headache and 48 FPS messes with my head.

I saw it at the XD theater, whatever that is. 3d+really loud?

I personally would rather do 2d, but my friends and wife like 3d/XD.

I actually prefer watching at home, as I can pause, eat and drink (alcohol); but that's a different topic.
