I got a new cordless Milwaukee stubby impact wrench for Christmas and I'm anxious to try it out.

I've never been to a junkyard but the stories here make them sound great. I just got a used Mazda6 for my son and I'm in need of a couple interior pieces. Is there a good yard near Atlanta that anyone can recommend? I only know how to search via Car-Part.com and that feels like retail junkyard prices.

Thanks Brett. These seem to have nothing thing less than ten years old. Is there a hierarchy among junkyards or something?

The self serve junkyards do seem to have 10+ year old cars. They can be bought cheap, and have less valuable parts. The big yards snatch up the really new stuff. Higher buy in, but higher recoup on parts.

The self serve seem to specialize in "come get it out of my yard", and equal to or barely beat scrap prices. That's how they can price ANY alternator for $21.

Yeah. Looks like I need to setup a couple notifications.

There are actually three “pull a part”s in Atlanta. I personally prefer the SE one but if you are looking for a specific vehicle hit their website vehicle search and see which one has that vehicle.

Sometimes the self-service yards have older cars that don't make it to the website. The Raleigh LKQ usually has a couple of rows of things manufactured before 1990, but they never show up in the online inventory.

Cagles U Pull It, which is in Cartersville.  They've got a great selection.  Gray and White is OK too.
