Most places I'm aware of have laws against covering your face in public.

Although, as far as clowns go, I guess this one is pretty scary. This Ronald would have probably kept me OUT of McDonalds when I was a kid.

So, no Muslim women in your part of the world?

There are laws on the books saying it's illegal to cover your face in public. I just read that it's a law here locally a couple weeks ago. Kids were getting stopped by the police for wearing those hoodies that zip up in the front completely hiding their face. I have no idea how they handle Muslim women, or us motorcyclists that wear full face helmets. But the law is there. It does piss me of when I can't walk into a gas station to hand the clerk a five dollar bill to pay for my gas without pulling off my helmet, which means taking off my glasses and pulling out my earplugs when it's 105 degrees outside only to have to put all that crap back on again. I understand why it's a rule, like wearing a baseball cap into a bank, but I still don't like it.

The gas station has rules, and they can have those rules with or without the law. Think about how Larry Flynt can publish pornography because he has a right to free speech, but Facebook can refuse to allow pornography through their rules.

I question the mask thing being a law. Like shouting "fire" in a crowded theater, I can see laws that disallow masks when there is a compelling public interest, and can imagine many cases where that public interest might exist. There might, for example, be laws that consider wearing a mask while committing a crime an "aggravating" element. A blanket "no masks in public" law is the thing that blows my mind.

The Muslim women part get around it under first amendment religious freedom. As far as the helmet, I'm going flip face next.

Although it was funny watching my friend nearly get into a fight with a security guard and almost get kicked out of Faneuil Hall for wearing his mask inside last Halloween.

I never take off my helmet or sunglasses to pay for gas. I wear a cowboy hat to the bank just because... I always wear a hat. Have people called you out on this? No one ever gives me grief.

Are they worried about the 5th of November?

So dressing as a clown on Halloween this year and tossing fun size snickers and Reese cups isn't a good idea?

I blame peanut allergies for this.

No! It's a GREAT idea. Better even than growing a beard and carrying a backpack with a pressure cooker full of steel shot.

Pretty sure when I lived in Alabama they had such a law and would bring it up every year around Halloween. Seems it was passed in response to those white pointed hoods people sued to wear.

They also had a fleeing felon law, which meant a cop could shoot anyone fleeing that they thought had committed a felony.

Yes, many times I have been ran out of numerous stores, screamed at by several people that I can't enter a building with my helmet on. Rather than losing my temper and beating the E36 M3 out of some stupid gas station employee I just pay by debit card now so I never have to go in. And you don't want to even think about stepping foot in my bank with anything at all on your head. I've even been lectured over my sunglasses resting up top. It's so the video cameras can identify a person. It's been this way everywhere I've lived in the past fifteen years.

Again, I'm not sure how these places deal with Muslim women.

You know I first thought it was some hysteria or a group just being creepy but they are showing up at schools and there were 2 robberies and an assault locally from creepy clown costumed people. So now I just don't know what to think of all of this.

We had an older guy in our church who did clown stuff on the side. Our pastor had him do a clown thing for our summer vacation Bible school one year.

Each night he was a different clown and one night he was "Sophie" the clown lady. The entire thing was scary as can be and I was creeped out the whole time. Even my son at a young age felt it was all wrong.
