So, one of the things I like to get involved in, but often did not have time to, or didn't want to due to the cliquey BS that happens, is stage theatre. Think plays, live radio dramas, ish like that. It's a good time, forces me to use my "I gotta build this E36 M3 for 3$, I have a drill, some gum, some tape, and 3 sticks of wood" thinking, and a gets me talking to a whole new set of people (Which i am in desperate need of as of late). A while back, a friend of mine posted on the Facetube that he was setting up to do a LIVE version of Night of the Living Dead. Like with people as the zombies, stage guns, all that noise. I was in from the word go. Anyhow the show opens TOMORROW!
http://www.moundstheatre.org/ That's the theatre we're playing at. Not real big, converted from an old movie theatre that showed talkies, and was a vaudville theatre back in the 20's. Totally perfect old school vibe.

Shameless FB plug as well. I'll let you know right here- this is NOT for profit. The idea is eventually we get the right core group together that we might get paid to do stuff like this in larger venues, but as of right now, it's all 100% volunteer, and the occasional slice of pizza. I can tell you we've busted our asses (I've averaged 30+ hours/week at the theater, running my fight scene.... building the entire thing, trying to sort out barricades, and so on. I even learned to do makeup) and I have to say, I am SUPER stoked on the final result. Anyone that goes I can tell them, they've never seen anything like this before.
Anyhow, I know most of you are NOT in MN. I'm cool with that. A lot of you are totally on the "zombies jumped the shark" train too. Also cool with that. But if you think this is neat, you know some people that would like to see it, or are in the area, stop on down, or make them stop down and see it. Tickets are only 17$, and it's two hours of entertainment like you've never seen before.
As an aside, mods if I'm overstepping my boundaries, please feel free to box me about the ears. Or remove said thread. Whatever.
As a note to GRMer's- I die right away, and spend most of it back stage (dual roles, yo!) but I'd love to meet y'all after the show if you do come. I'm fairly easy to recognize, I'm the only one that hasn't shaved in 3 years. I'd love to see some of you lot of you can make it!
