It makes me sick too. But even worse, this is likely to happen again thanks to the US Supreme Court's decision.

There's also no need to explain that to a Marine.

I was actually explaining it to the cops, the Marine showed restraint and paid the ultimate price.

Hey... anybody notice that they re-upped the Patriot Act unchanged for another 4yrs yesterday?

I am seriously doing the moat. And trap doors in the floor. Maybe a portcullis. Archers definitely. No smash and grabs here - they will have to lay siege.

I watched Hitman last night. I want those bath beads he put on the floor outside his door. Take car of the DEA AND the people that don't understand the words "NO SOLICITING"... plus I bet I could get that little brat Nick from down the road.

In the words of the immortal Professor Farnsworth, "I don't want to live on this planet anymore".

You mean the Dems were OK with the restriction of freedom contrary to what they publicly state?

I'm shocked!

Far more Dems voted against it than Republicans.*(1)

(1) For the purposes of that statement, I'm not counting the Republicans voting against to make the point they want it made permanent instead of just extended, as clearly that group is very much in favor of it. (2) (3)

(2) Paul being a notable GOP exception.

(3) Yes, I know some Dem's voted against it for that reason too. I'm not counting them either.

That just like a badly organized raid in the way the team conducted themselves. There seemed to no announcement of the search warrant and the SWAT team was very casual about the door breach and all. Most of the blame should rest on their superiors though. The SWAT team was going into what they thought was a drug dealers house and they see a AR15 pointed at them. I imagine that those cops have seen plenty of drug related violence and they got a little trigger happy. They made major mistakes but they shouldn't have been in that situation in the first place.

Some people tried that, The incidents are now known as "Ruby Ridge" and "Waco".

My question.

"Why was a swat team used in a raid on a person with no criminal history?"

That is not usual procedure for any department to my knowledge, I know I am out of date but cannot see a reason for a full tactical raid in this circumstance.

Unless I am mistaken it was a Marijuana raid on a clean skinned suspect.

This thing reeks of a sanctioned hit to me

NB: I have made the assumption that the victim is a clean skin here but if he had a criminal history I am sure the police/hit squad would have exploited it thoroughly by now.
