Looking for some help. I'm not totally in love with Facebook, but I do enjoy keeping up with far flung family and friends, and FB marketplace has become a good additional option for selling parts, plus I post on occasion. There are few owners groups that have no parallel on the web, and I very much want to retain access to those communities.

This week I went on an amazing motorcycle ride around Mt. St. Helens and posted a few photos along with some brief commentary about the gorgeous fall day and the new dusting of snow in the mountaintop; stuff like this:

The next morning, upon attempting to access Facebook, I was informed that my account is suspended to do violations of community guidelines! I never realized the fall foliage and twisty roads were so offensive! I don't know if I was hacked, or the AI just went berserk, or what, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't me.

I was given the option of requesting a review, which I've been trying to do with no avail. When I request a review, I'm directed to a page to confirm my identity with two factor authentication via a confirmation code by SMS to my phone. My phone number is displayed, and I can select it by ticking a box next to it, and clicking on submit. When I do this, I receive a code on my phone, and simultaneously, the Facebook webpage indicates an error where the SMS code "wasn't able to be sent" (but I received one) and the only option is to retry. I've retried so many times, I've now been locked out for requesting too many codes four times in a row. Every single motherberkeleying time I've requested a code, I've received it, and every single time, Facebook claims they couldn't send it and give me no place to input the code. I've logged out, cleared caches, tried other networks, etc, to no avail.

They informed me that my ban will become permanent in 30 days if I don't appeal, yet don't give me any valid way to appeal, as there is nowhere to input the code. Days worth of Googling have yielded nothing, just thousands upon thousands of hits for solutions if you DONT receive a code, but berkeley-all for what to do if you receive a code, but are given no options to use it.

Any attempts to find another avenue to Facebook support haw yielded exactly diddly-squat over the past few days.

Why is this so hard?

What did I do wrong?

How can I fix it?

Please help if you can....thanks!

Do you use any ad-blocking on your browser or network (i.e., a pi-hole)?  If so, I'd try it with your ad blocker disabled.  I recently ran into a similiar issue (not with facebook, with a 2 factor log in page immediately failing) due to Ublock Origin that I run on Firefox.

In reply to WonkoTheSane :

Thanks for the tip; I frequently use a VPN and an ad-blocker, but will retry with both disabled.

Currently working for apple support. When we get this kind of call default is to disable vpn and anti virus almost always solves the issue

You'll need to log in to post.
