20 minutes and a couple of clips instead of snips and done. Was done on a Fri afternoon - doc said take it easy on Sat - wear a jock strap for a few days, but pretty much said you'll be good for regular activities on Sunday.

What I remember most about the whole ordeal was the doctor trying to reassure me that the volume of ejaculate wouldn't change. "Don't worry, It will still be as much as before" he kept saying. I was and still am baffled by this. Is that really a concern for guys? Is manliness gauged by the volume of spooge in a graduated cylinder?

He really thought I would be concerned about it though.

My urologist's first name is Harsh - that was the most intimidating thing.

I find that hard to believe. Male sterilization is MUCH less invasive surgery than female, even if the woman just has a tubal. I can't imagine there are fewer side effects for a woman.

Mine was tough enough that the doctor told me he almost gave up on the left one before making one last try. Although I didn't really bleed like Graefin, I had pretty good swelling and I was on the couch with the frozen peas for a few days straight, with some pain. I would still hardly call that a horror story.

Mine has definitely gone down by about 1/3. It's not much of a concern with me. I can see it might hit some guys where they live, though.

Had it done 23 years ago. The only thing I found was when they give the anesthetic shot they said I'd just feel a pinch. Yeah right, I sat straight up reaching for his hand when he calmly said to me you don't want to do that. I stopped and considered that he was right and layed back down. When he did the other side it wasn't so bad now that I knew what was coming. The bruising the day after was suprising but everything worked just as well as before so I was good. In fact, knowing I wasn't going to be leaving any trial Juniors around helped the libido some.

You guys got it to early there is a injectable vasectomy treatment being tested in India right now.

Quick little shot into the salty bits and completely reversible in the future, also non hormonal.

Called RISUG will be in the states allegedly in 2012.

Because a needle being gently pressed into my testese is ever so pleasant. Not that being cut open isn't. I've got a friend studying to be a brain surgeon and she watches that E36 M3. Says its interesting. She's nuts. Pun totally intended.

When I had mine done, the start of the procedure was done without the benefit of anesthetic. I kicked the doctor in the face quite hard. Apparently I'm a bit resistant to the local, and it takes extra time to set in. They shot me with the local again after that, waited about 15 minutes until they tried the 2nd snip. By that time I could barely feel anything from my belly button to my knees.

I was alright walking around and such the same day.

Got mine done years ago, never regretted it. We had two children at that time, and when we decided to have another, well we adopted :)

It can be reversed. More painful than having it snipped, but good percentage of success. Been there, got the scars.

depends on the technique and procedure used... as far as I know mine isn't reversible ....

Just got mine done two weeks ago. Totally not a big deal. Some doc shaved my nuts and gave me the snip while I watched Food Network on a flat screen. In and out in 30 minutes. Ice on and off for two days, tight undies and no lifting for a week, then back to the old routine.

I was self pay and I negotiated $555 from a quite respected urologist.

... and his receptionist is HOT. I asked her if she wanted to sit in on the procedure. She asked why. I said "for the same reason you watch the previews before the movie."

It depends on how it was done, but from what I understand all the procedures these days are reversible, although some of them require general anesthesia and opening up the whole bag and laying your nuts on the table.

They can however harvest swimmers from the Epididymus with a needle. The only drawback is that they aren't capable of swimming the distance at that point and they can only be used in a dish, not a vagina.

therein lies the difference ... mine was done 30+ yrs ago... small slit over each tube.... pull tube out, cut 1/4" section out, cauterize each end .... do other one... might be possible to reverse,( Dr Hess might want to comment here..) but probably not ...

Not a choice. 23 years ago when I had mine I had 3 kids from 2 women that I knew of (and still know of ) and that was more than enough for me. Now it doesn't matter as SWMBO has passed that age and can't have anymore. Plus I'm just too old to go through all that again.
Besides it isn't released yet.

I had mine about 20 years ago, while knocked out for hernia surgery.

BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT!!!

I wish I had it done when I was 16. It's not like there is any shortage of people on the planet.

CHICKS DIG IT!

The wife had fun with the shave part (hey, somebody was going to do it).

Did she? When does the movie come out?

I have a friend who works for a doc and she watches the procedures from time to time. Its always interesting when she opens a file and sees something she hadn't wanted to/expected to see. I usually get a very descriptive message on my phone within seconds.

No, but she did examine the incisions the next week and I asked her if she had any scars... so she showed me her Episiotomy scar
