Zucotti is a private park.

I just came in from shoveling. This stuff is like cement to shovel, no fun.

This storm also delayed a trip across PA to pick up our next lemons car, so that will be tomorrow instead.

I've lived in MT, MA, and upstate NY, never seen snow like this in October.

Yeah, this is surreal and infuriating.

A relative of my wife's just had a tree fall on TWO of their cars. They're in Greenwich, CT.

Snow on the ground for Halloween. Ponderous. berkeleying ponderous.

Just a dusting around Ithaca NY. I feel bad for my friend in RI, his commute is 45 min on a good day up into Mass.

And my plans to transfer out there just got bumped up by a few months.

I've lived with that commute for 8 years now. Snow turns a 50 minute commute into a 2 hour commute in the blink of an eye.

Central FL is also getting rain this weekend....the big problem, though, is the mosquitos. The rains a few weeks ago left lots of shallow pools in places that are normally dry. The insect population noticed this and decided to take advantage of it http://www.abcactionnews.com/dpp/news/region_polk/auburndale/recent-flooding-causes-major-spike-in-polk-county-mosquito-population

It's just a little cold out here at night (30F at the moment, supposedly going down to 10F by Friday) but it's still reasonably warm during the day.

OTOH we've had the first snow of the year in the first week of October, which is also rather unusual (or so I hear).

I'm 15-20 minutes south of Gettysburg...about 8" here. enough to bring down all kinds of trees. I was smart enough to move my cars so none fell on them. Good thing too, about 30 minutes after I moved them a branch came down right where the wifes car was.

All melting now though. Wonder if they cancelled the autox today in Frederick.....

I pushed about 12" off my car this morning. There had been time for it to melt/pack down at that point, so if we got 14-16", I wouldn't be surprised. No power here (basically the whole town). Luckily, I have a generator.

Total of about 10-12" here on top of the mountain. No casualties except that the dish went out due to snow at lap 51 of the Indian GP so I can only guess that the rest was as boring and uneventful as the part I did see.

We had 8". The 60 mile ride from my sister in laws took three hours, and I spun 360deg down a hill after I had stopped completely. It's a odd feeling sliding away from a stop without letting off the brakes. Luckily we didn't hit anything. Power is finally on so I have heat and running water again. We spent the day in the driveway with a fire going and smokeing some beef.

You're a good man. I used to keep my bag in a Dominoes pizza and couldn't believe how many calls they'd get in terrible weather and not get tipped. I don't think you could pay me to deliver a pizza by bicycle in the snow.

Now they're saying 820,000. It's worse than when hurricane Irene came through...two whole months ago. I'm guessing there might be a rate increase over this in our future.
