Caught the very end of the game, and then the ESPN coverage went over how crazy the 7th was.

and

Cubs vs. Mets or Dodgers... I'm really not sure who I want the Cubs to play. I feel like the Mets are the better team overall, but 2 Cy-Young winners in the same lineup is frightening.

This is the first time in never people are talking about the Cubs outside of Chicago, and not about them imploding.

I'm not going to lie, the Mets are the underdog for the pennant. I'm just glad my team is still in it.

BTTF2/Cubs aside, a Cubs-Mets NL Pennant is something I never thought I would see.

I've got no horse in the race, but I'm rooting for the Cubs just because I remember the Red Sox finally winning it all in 2004, and how it made the people feel around here. The sad thing is the Sawx and their fans have never been the same since, so it is a double edged sword. Fenway has turned into a pink hat wearing place to be instead of the grungy/dingy old ballpark that it is. The fans have become soft if you ask me. Of course Cubs fans seem to be just the type that loves dem bums, and doesn't seem to be the blood thirsty bunch that Red Sox nation had become before that first championship in 86 years. No doubt things will change if the Cubbies win the series though. Theo Epstein is the real deal, and the Sox were dumb to let him leave.

I was most happy for my grandfather to finally see the Sox win. He was a long time Boston Braves fan, but took on the Sox after the team left. I may have even shed a tear thinking about him enjoying that run to the 04 championship. He died a year or so later, but he got to see them win.

Well...its starting to feel like the good ol' berkin' Cubs, again.

One thing to keep in mind---- the Cubs are waaaaay ahead of schedule. They weren't supposed to be this good, this early. Although I'm obviously rooting for them to extend the series tonight---it's already been the best season for them in recent memory. I've also NEVER been this hopeful for the future.

It looks like the Cubs are going to be a solid team for years to come. Now they just need some bullpen help.....and a closer.

I had hopped on the Jays bandwagon late in the season, but I fell off on Monday when they almost blew an 8 run lead. I guess its back into my lonely, sad Tigers corner...

Shame about the Cubs, but they are being outplayed, just like the Jays. The better teams are winning.
