...for your triglycerides to be at 1162? FML...now it's time to actually exercise, and eat healthy. Of course the Doctor's office calls after I get back from 5 guys.

LOL. Now would be a good time to buy funeral insurance. Prolly only have to make a couple of payments before the big one. Your family will thank you for it!

Are you kidding? That is AWESOME. You could win the "I win at life" thread easily. (and possibly briefly... don't move - the ambulance will be there in just a minute...)
Now is the time for your significant other to step up and and offer gratuitous sex , Its good for you. Scientific fact.
I have my company's "health assessment" today, last time I went they told me I was obese and unhealthy. I am a gym rat. My smoker/drinker/gym avoiding friend was told she was healthy and keep doing what she was doing.
yep, at 6'1", and 220#, I was told at one of those health screenings at work that I was obese and that I was not qualified for a discount like the anorexic meth-head in line before me. I had to go to the doctor and have him send a letter to the ins. company stating that because of my height, weight, and ACTIVITY LEVEL (bmx thanks...muscle is heavier than fat) I was in fact in great health.
that was 7+ years ago and in my mid twenties lol...things now are not quite the same

I had to pull my blood work sheets to review. Desireable is 150 or less......over 200 is of concern.
I remember my doctor telling me about a patient whose cholesterol was so high the blood seperated in the vacutainer after it was drawn. It had a white layer that rose to the top. That must have been you
I kept freaking mine out with a 99. They'd pull it and do it twice to make sure they weren't making a mistake. I do know now there are other factors which can make it seem artificially low.
Not to be too over the top, but that is really high and although we don't talk about trigs that much, can be hazardous to your health in the long run. You can actually get pancreatitis from super high trigs so get on it and now. Don't wait until you need to see me or one of my fellow ticker fixers
Yep... Doc started me on twice a day meds, and I have started with the fishoils and exercise already. I need to lose about 30lbs (currently 6', 225). Luckily I'm only 34 (soon to be 35) and we are catching this early. I go back in 90 days to see if the diet/exercise/meds helped.
Get on a bicycle.
Work up to a 20-30 mile ride a week.
Skip rope once or twice a week as well.
Pushups/pullups in between.
Not much of a time commitment and it'll yield some nice results.
If you're really out of shape, don't be discouraged by how crappy/miserable you feel at first. You'll work into it.
Good luck. Health is nothing to screw around with.
This is what happens when "internet culture" decides that bacon is the be-all, end-all of manly nourishment. For four years straight.
See? Listening to the internet is bad for your health.
I thought triglycerides were were fat / cholesterol related but you guys are talking sugars. I am confusered.
Someone with a triglyceride of 1162 is probably not going to get down to a desirable 150 or less without drugs, at least initially.
Exercising and eating healthy make you feel good, and once you start exercising your body will crave it and you will want to.
You can do this. I guarantee it's better than the alternative.
As long as they aren't talking HDL/LDL in the bad range. Just add more veggies to the 5 guys, say jalapenos, onion, lettuce, tomato.
I also assume it's a typo and should be 162 instead of 1162. That would be very very bad. 162 is still high though. Mine just tested at 202 after a weekend of living off of saugage biscuits and brats. Doc is talking meds but wants to stabilize the sudden mild thyroid issue with synthroid first. Hopefully by then I'll get the numbers where they are supposed to be. Wife started having me take her to the gym on a regular basis.
