I'm seeing many CL ads for Suzuki GSXR1000 bikes with stupid low prices. Lots of 'em. Like half a dozen in any given area at any given time. So let's say I'm foolish enough to call. What to they get? My email address?

Seems like a good deal.
Either it's a scam of some sort or that is a stolen bike. Hopefully someone can explain what the scam is.
They probably want you to wire them money.
There are always cheap ATVs on CL in the Augusta, Ga area.
It's a scam, they've been showing up around me too- clean sportbikes for $1-2k, one picture, lifted from a legitimate ad somewhere. Once you contact them it'll be a pretty standard scam, some sort of story/runaround/whatever where you give/recieve money/personal info.
They'll say they're out of town for business/military/etc and you can pay for the bike and it'll be delivered free and if you don't like it you can get your money back from "Craigslist escrow" or some other nonexistent service. They may even only ask for a portion of the purchase price and you can pay the rest once you have the bike. Which you never will ...

Exactly. Some will even front you the money and say something to the tune of "Ok, I'll send you a check (which is counterfeit) for shipping which will get reimbursed for shipping"
Once you're hooked and money is wired, it gets shuffled internationally and you'll never see it again.
I deal with this and other actual sophisticated financial scams daily and it's rampant. Unfortunately if you wire money to these people, there is virtually 0% chance if getting it back and it's nobody's fault but yours.
Bottom line: Craigslist = Cash only and in person
