I personally feel that New Years resolutions are important, because they show that you can at the very least ACKNOWLEDGE the need to change. No different than yearly performance reviews with recommendations on improvements.
I've made a simple list, and after some stuff that went on over the holidays, I'm just going to do it. Not even try, I've given up on trying, I am just going to "do".
- Get a new job asap
- Lose 10 pounds (gained it sitting through 2 years of school and 1 year of sitting at a desk job). I have a smaller frame, so 10 pounds seems like a lot on me.
- Date, a lot. I'm not the suavest of a ladies man, but I don't think I'm that bad. I've heard great things about online sites and I meet a lot of interesting women in my travels racing, so this shouldn't be hard.
- Pay off all credit card debt.
I feel pretty good about the list. It's not like any of these things are crazy hard, I just have to do them. The last 4 years of my life have been devoted to racing (and some school), time to grow as an adult now I think.
