But everyone keeps telling me how lucky I am.

I went to my family doc for a totally unrelated matter and she mentioned that I hadn't been there in 4 1/2 years. She decided to take advantage and send me for a bunch of tests along with a colonoscopy. It was during the colonoscopy that the doc found a polyp in my ileum. It turned out to be a carcinoid tumor. Things happened fast after that and I'm booked for surgery Tuesday morning. It looks like I'm going to loose about a foot of my intestine. My blood and urine tests all came back normal. My CT scan shows an isolated mass in my ileum. No swelling of the adjacent lymph nodes and no other tumors were found, so I guess I should be happy. The surgeon admits that more may be discovered during surgery but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I have absolutely no symptoms and I feel fine. I have no idea how far this would've gone if it hadn't been found when it was.

Sounds like my father about 10 years ago, everything worked out and he still rolling strong with no need for more surgery.

Get well soon as race season is on the way.

Any mention of post-op chemo?

Colon cancer of various types runs rampant in my family. It took my grandfather and one of my aunts, and nearly took my mother and my other aunt.

I'm so happy they caught it when they did. Cancer sucks.

Consider prayers said for you and your family!

Catching it sooner is always preferable to later if you don't have a choice to avoid it entirely. Here's to a positive prognosis!

If you need an ear or if it goes down the route where you get to experience the joys of bag life, or have any questions about that, chemo or radiation don't hesitate to reach out to me or ask. Here's hoping that the amount of suckage is minimum.

I'm not sure that is the best weight loss plan, but at least afterward you will be able to quantify how much less full of e36-m3 you are vs normal people. So you have that going for you, which is something.

Good luck!
