had to work
I played D&D (actually Pathfinder) for 4.5 hours and drank too much beer, saw my friends BRAND NEW daughter (born late thursday).
Today I spent something like 6 hours dirt biking. Not having a full time job sucks sometimes but it has its benefits.
Took some family pictures of my friends. Considered once again how much I love taking portraits and family photos and how I really do have "an eye" for photography.
Shame it's a tough business to be in...
I worked.
On Saturday, I did the front pads and snow tires on my wife's car. That included separate trips to take her to work, buy more parts mid job, and pick her up. Special thank you time was worth it.
On Saturday, my MOTHER-IN-LAW came over to help reorganize my garage! She and my wife have been on an organization kick for a while and they finally ran out of closets to re-do. She's a genius at it. They took nearly everything out while I went to Cars&Coffee and soccer with my daughter, following up by picking up an 8' workbench with a SS top @ Sears (yeah, could have built one...). She brought the f-i-l's pickup so I could make a dump run too.
Only about 1/2 done but to finally have a proper work bench is just awesome and all my wire shelves actually have a sense of order now.
Well I built a countertop for the master bath out of hardwood flooring in the morning, and I then started prepping this for an engine-ectomy.
Drove from Detroit to Atlanta. Took the scenic route and enjoyed the drive.
Then dicovered at 9pm my Dad's satellite pkg doesn't get AMC so I missed Walking Dead
The morning started off with dragging parts out of my parents' shed in an attempt to help EvilDave with his challenge car, then breakfast with the parents. After that, a friend and I drove to Middleofnowhere, IN to pick up a parts car that I will lovingly refer to as Two-Face.
And the reason for its name:
Sunday I was sick. Slept on the couch for 45 minutes periods. Woke up to cough up stuff that were shades of yellow the human body should never produce. Still not completely over it.
Went to check out kart racing about an hour away, having the Leaf's first trip far enough away to involve a charge to get home (probably could've made it home, but would have been on e-fumes). Was stoked to find out the most populous and competitive is also the least-expensive, and was pleased to find it demographically stocked with people even older than me (not that I'm old, but didn't really want to race a field of 17-year-olds). But can I get excited about racing a Briggs & Stratton? I guess it's no more agricultural than so many of my beloved British cars...
After that, a couple more hours of fiberglass insulation installation in the garage. I figure I've got another three or four hours, and then it's time for drywall. After that, it's just paint and finally digging into car/bike projects. It's been far... too... long.

I worked on the rally car for a good 12+ hours. Mainly just organizing/maintenance stuff but still was productive.
As for my sunday? Girlfriend stayed over the night, so we got out of bed pretty late in the morning... ;)
Then went to the largest indoor water park in THE WORLD (West Edmonton Mall, [sarcasm]woooooo[/sarcasm]). Dunno if it is anymore, but I didn't mind it as much as I thought I would. Some of the slides are pretty intense.
Then a pub for some food and a couple drinks.
Then drove down to the hometown to visit family/friends over remembrance day.
Overall, it was a good weekend, which is a good thing because it was a E36 M3ty gawd awful week leading up to it.
