YES!
The internet is a snapshot of information collected after 2000 or so. Yes, it (and technically, the World Wide Web which is what you're thinking of) have been around longer but it took a while before a majority of new info ended up online. There's a lot of good stuff that you simply can't find online. Ask any reference librarian.
I have a copy of Tony Weale's Lotus Seven book. It's worth over $100 because it's pretty much a must-have if you own (or are building) a Seven. There's detail info in there I've never seen elsewhere.
More importantly, I have paid three figures for a copy of The Certain Sound by John Wyer. It's the autobiography of one of the best team managers in endurance racing. Most of the information on the GT40 out there is filtered through the Shelby lens, but this gives a very different view - and covers the pre-Shelby development as well as the continued success of the car after Ford got what they wanted. Then there was the matter of a car called 917. You won't find this online. You can find people's interpretations of these stories, but this is the source. John Horsman's biography Racing in the Rain is also up in the three figure range, but is an excellent source of info that you can't find unadulterated online.
The internet is a shallow pool compared to books.
How does the $4 random book club work? We just pay return shipping for every book +$48 and we get to read 12 books?

This is a book that Alfa people like to have- note the price on it.
http://www.amazon.com/vetture-Alfa-Romeo-dal-1910/dp/B0000EGP6E
that is what I've seen them go for at Alfa conventions.
There are a lot of historic books and pictures that go for really good $$.

NOPE! You pay 48 bucks and you get to KEEP 12 books. I have a stack of books that aren't necessarily in the best of condition, but deserve to be read again. 4 bucks a month, you get a book every month.
I remember when that Trans Am book was like $49.99 at Barnes & Snowball and me being unable to justify purchasing it. I've been kicking myself ever since.
Also, a MINUS ONE to you for even owning that "Worst Car" book. I have never read a less-informed, horribly-written book on cars than that one. You should light it on fire and reap the good karma.
Everything is pretty awesome.

Really a dig at young folk, with their ADD, texting habit, functional illiteracy, and general inability to express themselves in more than 32 characters. My house is full of books. I love books. I am old.
Oh, and get off my lawn!
I'm going to let this obvious canoe stand for now however if you get an attitude with me I will not hesitate to point out the shortcomings of the structural integrity of your bookshelf.
Like the site layout. Looks nice. Unless I missed it a little more detail on the rarer books would be neat.

“When I have a little money, I buy books; and if I have any left, I buy food and clothes.” - Desiderius Erasmus
Just stuff like what it is about why its significant what its publication/circulation history was.
Never mind I see that you have that stuff I just failed to click the book for more detail. I'm browsing on android but it keeps going back to the main page rather than back to where I was. Like if I am in the menu of book types and go into one when I press back it goes to the main page not the list. Any fix for that?

I am not old, but my house is also full of books. I don't know how to put this, but... I'm kind of a big deal.

John Keats' last will and testament - " My chest of books divide amongst my friends."
Perfect iambic pentameter...
Liked. Anybody that quotes Neil Himself is all right in my book (no pun intended). Good luck! Can't wait for a chance to browse.

Probably one of my favorite authors. I read American Gods last summer (finally) and it changed my life.
In complete irony of my previous statement, I just purchased a 1953 Radiotron Designers' Handbook about vacuum tubes from Amazon.
Have you considered being linked to Amazon in any form?
When I click on the link to that Alfa book, Amazon thinks I might also be interested in "Delicious recipes that go with milk."
Our robot overlords run on some seriously peculiar algorithms.

Well, are you interested in Delicious Recipes that go with Milk?

We sell some books on Amazon. It's effective for mass market stuff that you can mark down to about 10 cents, I've never had much luck selling rarities there.
