Sorry, this is another of my "looks like one thing but is actually another thing", threads.

Considering I'm between jobs and getting short on money I probably should NOT be buying another car, but should instead be continuing to "band-aid" the one I currently have. HOWEVER, I've answered several CL ads in the last few weeks (yeah, another CL rant!) and gotten nowhere....nothing....NO REPLY.

I feel like I'm on some kind of blind date. You call or e-mail someone and hope you say THE RIGHT WORDS so that they know you are interested...but not overly eager/desperate, and nothing happens.

Soooo, my question is :

"what do you do when you place an ad to sell your cat/truck and the person/people who answer your ad "strike a wrong note" (how else can I put that).? I realize that replying MIGHT open you up to cyber-stalking, but for crying out loud. As Judge Marilyn would say "it's time to put your big boy pants on". You if place an ad, shouldn't you have the decency to say "sorry it's sold" OR SOMETHING?

Whenever I have an ad up I respond to emails as long as the sender can form a complete sentence with mostly correct spelling.

Sometimes you'll have better luck calling/texting, especially if they give a phone number.

Anymore, if the adds don't have a phone number on them I just pass it up. The only time I have gotten a response from email is when I bought the Roadmaster.
