Shot the air conditioning parts cannon at my 96 Corolla daily driver. While I was there I scope creeped into a fresh radiator and hoses and belts. The old radiator was developing crust at the seams. Rockauto got all that stuff for cheap so better to do it now before it forces me to do it later.

It's rolling that frigid Toyota refrigeration out of the vents now. Quite welcome in this 111 degree temp here in Texas.

Went to my first autocross of the summer. Survived the day but got my hiney handed to me by this 600 hp LS truck in CAM T. Yes, I know my car doesn't belong in that class but that's what they put me in.

Took the 944 we bought from Danny and drove cross country 2 years ago to the autocross today:

I spent the weekend at Santee State Park with the wife, kids, and grandkids. It was a good time though a bit warm.

My eldest has taken ownership of the Blunder Bus so it was along for the trip as well.

We had a couple of spots that backed up on the woods which is nice. All in it was a fairly quiet weekend hanging out with the family.

Well compared to you folks we didn't do much. Yesterday afternoon we met up with some old work acquaintances for a cookout. But then rain cut it short and Annie and I went to Bill's for a few drinks. Today was a low key day driving around NE CT in the MX-5 and visiting a great antique store in Putnam. We ended up back near home at Valley Country Club for dinner. We were under cover on the deck for the changing weather:

Worked around the raindrops to get more done on our little shed/cabin! Both ends are now sheathed, all our windows are installed, and we started the metal roof.

Been working on this since June, but it's only first time doing this and it's 4 hours away so it's been slow going.

Well, my plan was to go to the SCCA Majors qualifying races at Thompson today. The weather sucked. Heavy thunderstorms and even a tornado in Scituate right where I would have been traveling. So I stayed home. Later in the day when the weather cleared Annie and I went to Valley Country Club for dinner on their outdoor patio. It was a beautiful summer evening and we enjoyed it:

Tomorrow's weather looks great, so I plan to take the '96 NA Miata to Thompson. I'm really a fan of the Spec Miata and FV classes. Pics to follow tomorrow evening.

I took a picture today of a rock that IMO is what the people who discovered the impact crator that killed the Dinosaurs 65 million years ago. Ment when they said they had found the wave patterns in rock that were from the Tusami from the impact. This rock it is from 125 million years ago but they have found an impact crater in Nevada in that time period so....

It is more impressive in real time than the picture. Unfortunately I did not find anything fossilized. I am still on he search for a Trilobite. Back in the state I was born my Dad used to find them alot.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed yesterday, so I'm laying low all weekend. The fun part was there was apparently a small tornado that touched down up the road from the oral surgeon's office exactly when they started the surgery! That could have gotten really interesting.

I'm kinda bummed, because one of my buddies was having a big get-together today and a band I really wanted to see was coming to town this weekend, but I'm happy to have this done and out of the way.

I've been working on a sympathetic restoration of one of my favorite bikes, a 1992 Trek 970. I assembled it up last year using a very beat up frameset that my buddy scored me from the scrap yard. The frame was originally an ugly dark green and all of the decals had been scratched off. I rode it like that about 2500-3000 miles and finally couldn't stand it any longer. The bike rides fantastic but it was just too ugly.

So, sandblast and paint in Viper red urethane. New decals. New chain. Fresh tires. I'd be finished with it but the decals are arriving very leisurely.

Dood!  That's pretty sweet.  We have a pair of early 7000s with the bonded aluminum frame, but I try to keep an eye open for a ~17" higher end steel frameset from the same era to swap over for a less punishing ride.  Kind of a moot point if my fat arse never swings a leg over it anyway, but that ain't really the point...

Had a supplier hookup to a hospitality tent and covered bleachers at the Woodward Dream Cruise yesterday. Ran into Bradley and his 911 within the first 2 minutes of being there, which is crazy given there's 4 lanes of cars for a solid 4 miles. Took Jay's LT1 S10 since MonZora is still apart. I didn't take many pix.

And this unfortunate guy who tried to take his canopy to the grid. Oops:

But same guy had an unfortunate contact with the Armco:

Today Annie and I visited "Kingdom of the Hawk" vineyard in North Stonington, CT (and there were hawks aplenty circling overhead). Great relaxing afternoon because the hawks weren't after us:

But we were hungry, so we ended up back near home at Valley Country Club for more wine and a couple burgers:
