This weekend of August is always Cruise Weekend here. Stock car racing on Friday night, that was a really good series of races, Drag strip Saturday, downtown closed off with roughly a thousand cars and, unfortunately, a billion people.
Plus I got the headliner back in my 740 turbo yesterday, and my laundry done today.
A couple bike rides and an autocross, got 6th in raw time and adam525i got 7th:
Went to a car show back in my old neighborhood and won my class. Today was power washing a rug for the Missus and the patio. Oh and a lovely nap.

I live close to the area. What's your car?

I'm out in Aurora and a XR4Ti.

Did some retro gaming experiments , testing out a HOTAS setup I got at a thrift store, confirmed it works well. Got F22 Lightning 3 to run flawlessly, F22 Raptor runs but apparently it bypasses Windows for joystick axis input and accesses the HID port directly (so that will require either old hardware or possibly some fancy driver trickery to fix), F22 Lightning 2 (1st in the series) won't run at all...will have to try ripping the original CD and maybe running it on a Win98 VM or even in Windows on DOSbox.
Also went on a bike ride:

Nice car - thanks for the post
I put down some miles both days. Weekly mileage goal achieved.

I took my son out to practice driving. He is really learning fast!!!
My wife made made Philippine BBQ. and we absolutely feasted.
Little yard wor and a bit of walking with my wife just to get outside as the temps were really nice for a change!!
One weekend back, better late than ever.
Fording a creek in the Smokies with the GR86 to get to the starting point of a hike 4 miles up the mountain. When we got to the parking lot it was full of jacked up Mall Certified 4 wheelers. They sort of stared at us like we arrived from another planet.

Annie and I are at the Interlaken Inn in Lakeville, CT for the Lime Rock Fall Vintage Festival. I have a ton of pics already, but the internet connection isn't great here. So I'll post pics when the connection is better ... probably not until we get home.
I started this afternoon, doing some work to my daily driver Corolla.

I am working on writing a book and contemplating if my back can take a round of golf on the base course.
This weekend I am pulling one of my 944 out and getting it ready for sale. It has been a parts storage bin for a while so we will be going over it and making it look presentable. Goin to then load it up on the trailer and take it to my friends shop and have him go through it.
I might it the Trap field and bust some clays. I got a new to me Italian boom stick so it would be fun.
I think my wife is making Pinoy BBQ. I am really looking forward to that. We made it last weekend and froze half of it. It is always so much better after a week in the freezer.
I am not sure what else I am up to. Maybe do some work on the 951. I got pads calipers and rotors for it. I am still hoping to drive ot before the snow flies.

The annual around the islands Sunfish race is today at 1:30, looks like we'll have a decent breeze this year unlike last year that was almost flat calm. Hopefully there's still some inner teenager left in this carcass. Vacation week for us coming up and the weather looks really good so some boat rides and a trip up into the mountains in the fun car are on the schedule.
Edit: There was indeed enough teenager left!
I freaking won!
Attempting to track drums.

Took over a chunk of my folks back room, and made tons of noise. Took a few hours to find the sweet spots for all 4 mics, but it sounds good. Now I need to play good. Which is tough.
I took 4 college kids out to the sandbar about a mile in the gulf (Apalachee Bay) off St Marks lighthouse. Mrs Frog suggested I not post pictures of thong bathing suits on a family website. Note: there are girls that pull off that form of attire very well.
The money pit that displaces water ran perfectly all day. Life is good.
The weather is somewhat milder here in Texas today so I spent some time doing detail work on my fleet.

I also spent some time goofing with the coilovers to get the car sitting a little better.
Tomorrow I'll detail my truck.

You should give it a try, for science.

Dude....
Glad the boat was up to the task. Also, we were all young and buff once. No one wants to see that now. LOL.
The Pascagoula Run on my way to the Banana Republics...
Listening to Buffett thinking about all the good times with my late wife that were influenced by our enjoyment of his music. Sorta melancholy, but good memories.
Edit to add: Working on tomorrow's hangover...Cazadores Tequila is smoooooooth.

Working on the Jeep. Currently have the front diff out, right side lower control arm and strut removed, and left side just about ready to pull the lower control arm and strut.
Still need to replace oil pan gasket, exhaust manifold bolts and gaskets, then reassemble with new control arms, stabilizer link and Barr mount bushing and struts.

Front shocks, oil & filter on the Lexus and oil & filter on buddy's Mini.

Ok so a friend that is a FFL called me as he needs to raise cash to by out his friend in a house they purchased together. So long story short he gave me free rein of his inventory and I could purchase stuff at cost. He has more than a quarter million in inventory. A classic case of being paper rich and cash poor.
Anyway I went shopping. The boom stick thread will get updated in a while.
Two long time wish list items were obtained by me
This also coincided with my CPA telling me last week we had to spend some $$$ or the tax man gets it.
No I did not spend it all at the FFL. In fact it was a very small percentage but it was weird for me to be told to go spend money as I tend to be a bit of a penny pincher.
The rest is being spent on kids school debt and a car for my wife.
So interesting weekend.
