That rocks.
Rock on
Did an autocross, got 4th in raw time, just slightly ahead of adam525i
Also a bike ride around town:
Judging our Bus Roadeo. It's been years since we've been able to have one, so I was glad to go help out. Even though we've had E36 M3 weather all weekend every one coming out to complete is having fun.
Repositioning the wash machine in the laundry room with my floor jack.....oh and waiting for the Suzuka F1 to come on in an hour and a half....already have watched the first 20+ laps twice so far.....
Changed starter on my truck (see Minor Rants Thread) was about it. Went to church this morning and then took the kids to the indoor batting cages were members of.
Besides that, pretty much nothing. And doing nothing is glorious.
My father taught me you start painting on Labor Day weekend thru the cooler fall weather. All my cedar siding is finished.
Saturday: Ouray (CO) County Railroad Days in Ridgway, served as conductor on RGS Motor 1 (sometimes erroneously called a Galloping Goose, google for the Goose story) free rides on our demonstration loop in the morning, then led an auto tour following the former route of the Ouray Branch of the Denver and Rio Grande railroad. In the evening, sang 2 hours of karaoke at the Ouray Elks lodge. Sunday watched the Suzuka F1 race then played a concert (sax) with the Montrose (CO) concert band. Tomorrow: other than splitting firewood for a couple of hours (with a hydraulic splitter, I quit using a maul years ago), as close to nothing as I can get away with before diving into a week of medical appointments.
Picked up a different kind of "project". He's a two year old gelding that will eventually replace our eldest daughter's aging show horse.
More crappy weather in Southern New England so we're staying at home tonight. And probably tomorrow too. Too bad, because the Audrain Motor Week is going on right now and they've had to cancel or cut back on some events. Sunday's weather is supposed to be nice, so Annie and I plan to go to the main event: the Concours d'Elegance at The Breakers mansion in Newport. Fingers crossed on the weather.
New siding on the inside of the porch and smoke a pork butt yesterday, today we had the boat out in the local lake. What a beautiful October day, 78 degrees.
Saturday was spent trying to recuperate from a grueling work week, plus laundry, fixing dinner and baking a cherry, blueberry, apple crisp.
Sunday, 500 mile round trip to Moultrie, GA.
Busting out the cracked concrete under my lift and replacing it.
If you need to mix bags of concrete, I can strongly recommend one of these. 42, 80-pound bags of concrete took a little over an hour.
Needless to say, I'm a little sore this morning.
Took the kids to the zoo.
And went and looked at this beauty:
Body and interior are super clean. I love a good blue cloth interior. It needs a few things and I think she's asking more than I'd want to pay for it but... man do I want it in my driveway.
This is my favorite pic of the Concours: driving Grandpa's vintage Ferrari from the '53 Mille Miglia:
Hangin' out with my bud Chip:
Best in Show, 1938 Delage D8-120:
It's really unbelievably beautiful:

Who are those two kids? Doing stuff like this will teach them about having a can-do attitude.
In reply to SoonToBeDatsun240ZGuy :
The two in red are sons. The younger two are grands. All 4 of them are pretty can-do.
Went on a ride on some MTB trails with adam525i and gave myself an ass-kicking workout trying not to slow him down too much! Details in the pedalsports thread.
I was considering either doing that or going to an extra-cheap track day at Shannonville, good thing I took the bike ride because today I found the Toyobaru with a dead-ass battery
Yesterday was another Saturday washout in Southern New England, so we didn't do anything. But today was a great autumn day, so we did some cruising in the MX-5 to a vineyard in North Stonington, CT:
It got too cool and windy on the patio so we went inside to the tasting room:
Now home with a fire on a cool evening:
My wife is leaving for a three day work trip so I spent a lot of time with her this weekend. Fifteen years now and she's still the center of my world.
Aside from that I built a tailgate for this utility trailer project I have. It's framed up and fully welded and hinged. This week while my wife is away I will run and get a sheet of expanded metal to skin it with and build some latches to secure it.
I've also been refurbishing this commercial walk behind mower. Today was the first time that I fired it up and cut grass with it. What a fantastic machines these old mowers are.
