Taking this Volvo to it's first rallycross. In fact me and my two kids are all doing our first rallycross too.

I started my weekend early today by working on my truck. I had come across some old school wheels that I wanted to run so I mounted some fresh Coopers to them and got them put on the truck.
During the process I also swapped front springs to raise the front of the truck about an inch and in the back I changed shackles to also raise it about an inch.
The tires had been banded together tightly for shipping and I struggled to get the beads to seat. I have a whammy tank and a very large compressor but I just couldn't get them to seat. So I used old faithful. That did the trick.
Tomorrow I pull the seat out and remove the factory rubber floor covering for something nicer.
I'm also going to hang new headliner material as part of the interior refresh.
Going to see my granddaughter receive a National Park Service award and working on the B210 lemons car.
Hopefully finally going to pick up my new M5. Then I think I am going to re stack about a half cord of wood. Maybe some BBQ not sure.
I've been resurrecting this commercial mower from the brink of death. This weekend was new tires and wheel bearings.
Harbor Freight tire machine FTW for this job.
Well as soon as I made my last post I got a text telling me the title is in so going to get it tomorow
Waiting at Harry Reid Intl for my brother and nephew to land in a little over half an hour. Gonna grab a burger and haul them two hours north tonight, then turn around tomorrow morning and head six hours south for a couple days at the house of mouse. My parents, all siblings, and their offspring. 15 bodies. It's going to be the best, and also possibly the worst. So stoked.
Dad and I just spent some time at the open-air holistic camouflage market shopping for organic, free-range meat. As you can tell from the photo, I didn't find any.

That was a fast couple days. Whirlwind. Mostly kept the peace. Nobody over 5 cried. Everyone got to do what they wanted, except maybe my mom, who chose to do grandma things. Honestly, she's been there more than any of us and aside from Star Wars, has done all of it many times. I tried, but I think she wanted to spend time with the grandkids more than anything else. We drive back to UT in the morning, and everyone is sticking around until Saturday, so the fun continues.
On my way to the airport. Heading to Sonoma for my final Xtreme Xperience event in 2023. Then spending my winter in Florida!!!

Nice. Looks cold out there.
Not awful. 28 at daybreak, 40 by lunch.
Saturdays are Get This Kid Out of My Hair Day. The littlest Monohue and I went for a bike ride (aborted by rain), thrift shop the first (women's clothing and household clutter, staffed by seventyish year old women who start clucking and salivating at the sight of either a potential customer or four-year-old child and damn near sponteneously combust at the simultaneous appearance of both), halfass grocery/department store (seven new Hot Wheels! SEVEN!), thrift shop the second (more household clutter of the sort people donate when a summer's worth of garage sales fail to find it a new home), library (Daddy, where is Snap Circuits Jr? Why don't they have it? Where did it go? Why can't we play with it?), and almost the city museum (denied because they close an hour earlier than stated on the poster that inspired the visit).
Sundays are mine, mostly, except when they aren't. I spent the afternoon replacing front wheel bearings for the neighbor kid's AW11. Or maybe they are for his girlfriend's AW11. I was given the loose knuckles to work with, so it's a less-than-compelling mystery, but at least I got to do the work standing up in a dry garage. Nothing fought too hard and I got only slightly dirty. I wouldn't call it a laugh riot, but I did someone a favor and didn't break anything or hurt myself. Now I have to put the mess away and see if I still like the taste of whiskey. Place your bets.
Scored this sweet old buzzbox from a dude that was scrapping it. It had a bad power cord on it.
So I gave it some loving. New cord and plug. Quick connects on the leads. Full clean and detail inside and out. Added some wheels.
I burned some rod with it today and it didn't disappoint. I have always liked these old welders. This one is a keeper.
Then I started on parting out/scrapping this old John Deere.
I wanted a Kawasaki flat head core engine to rebuild/restore this winter for one of my other mowers. So I pulled the engine and now have to figure out how to get the most return on investment with the left over carcass.
