Mostly in the rain. The car was terrible. We end up in 19th in C class.

Shenanigans did happen. Good enough for Organizers Choice for the weekend.

Annie and I are in Wolfeboro, NH, for the weekend. We can't remember why we did this, but here we are. The Wolfeboro Inn where we're staying is so-so, but the location in town is great. We found the best local bar in town: Nolan's Brick Oven Bistro. (We seem to have a knack for that wherever we go). We had a fabulous time tonight, and will meet all of the great local folks we met tonight again tomorrow for the New Year's Eve fireworks over Wolfeboro Bay.

3-hour rock band practice in the afternoon then singing and helping out with New Years Eve karaoke at the Ouray, CO Elks lodge 7 pm - midnight, then playing Auld Lang Syne on my soprano sax on the Elks' front steps during the midnight fireworks in the mountains.  Tough duty!  This will be about 20 years for this tradition.

Wife and I are off work, and the kids are out of school. I'm not really interested in theme parks, prefer other activities. However, I wanted to do something that's been around long enough to be considered part of Florida history. Cypress Gardens and Six Gun Territory are long gone but today we went to Orlando and visited the original Gatorland.

They have thousands of alligators, plus salties from Australia and Indonesia, Nile crocks, snakes and lizards, Florida panthers, serval cats and more.

This thing looked especially dangerous.

I also saw Jawlene, who was recently rescued from an Orlando area boat ramp, and brought to Gatorland for treatment. she was taught to eat, and is thriving and gaining weight. The history of her injury is unknown.

Finished the install on wife's backup and dash cams. I dislike wiring, but everything works and is fused. Suspension is next. Hopefully.

Made decisions and progress on my couch guitar. The whole premise is cheap, but me being me and having the tools and knowledge.... Let's just say things could have gotten out of hand. But I decided instead to enjoy the mahogany and instead of paint, take the wood down to 600 grit on the neck and 400 on the body and just use several coats of linseed oil and attempt to hand polish it into something resembling a gloss finish.

Progress so far:

I leveled, shaped, and polished the frets, and started oiling. This is about three coats. I'll do three more and see how it looks.

Bringing this back up to the top

It is warm out this weekend!!!  I actually got some yard work done. Or should I say I cleaned up a bunch of stuff I had stored against the shed that was trapped by the snow. I hope to do a Q&D car cleaning. After that I may go to the range as there is a trap and skeet event that would be fun to watch

Took the new toy out to play.

Seems not touching RC cars for 30 years hasn't made me faster but still had a blast.

My goal next is not to be last.

I'm heading to Orlando in a week for maybe the 6th time and haven't ever done that but really ought to!

And to the OP: nuthin. Maybe we'll do another test drive of the YoutubeTV service with a different card so we can watch the Chiefs

Gotta go to Garorland. It's a staple of central Florida.  I along woth most of my friends had birthday party's there in the early to mid eighties and my daughter had one there a few years back.  Very little has changed, it's awesome.

Where I'm walking this weekend because weekend thread.

Spent all day yesterday repairing my buddy's car with him. He rear-ended someone about a month ago but only had liability coverage. Replaced hood, radiator, front bumper cover, front bulkhead, and driver's side headlight, using about $800 worth of mostly junkyard parts.

The HVAC in my truck has been needing some attention. Since it's a complete pain in the keister to remove the unit from behind the dash I went ahead and grabbed a spare HVAC box and I'm doing a full rehab so I can just swap them out.

I'm going full parts cannon on this thing. Heater core, evaporator, resistor pack, new flapper doors, new actuator motors and lots of new foam and seals. I want it 100% again when I'm though.

I may even do some stereo upgrades while I have the dash apart. Not sure on that yet. This has been expensive enough already.

I made a art. All in like 40 hours from Friday morning to 5 minutes ago. The girls in the house all love these things, I'd rather smash my balls with a hammer than make another one. But I finished it out of spite, because the wife didn't think I'd even get the background done.that sucked, it took until Sunday afternoon to get all the black down.

I spent too much time today making the windows fit the holes in my 67 Camaro.  Which has been hit fairly hard on the right side.  Twice.  And, has had the quarters replaced.  Twice.

Things are going to be fair, at best.  Luckily, I'm likely to drive it mostly with the windows down.
