Yesterday finished first phase of stairway to 2nd floor of a barndomonium.   Not car related but, seems a lot of interest in barndomoniums here.

Finished the whole first floor before Christmas, now the owner is going to put bedrooms and bath upstairs for guests.

Missed the first Martin Sports Car Club autocross event of the year due to work. It was supposed to be a double header with a second event in the evening. It's raining here all weekend, not surprising since it's Daytona 500 day today (postponed until Monday), so the night event was cancelled, and the morning event was very wet.

Since I like a wet course, and I daily the civic on Continental ECS tires, I hated missing it. I really want to try these tires under these conditions.

I had myself a super busy weekend. Both days I set up and sold at a swap meet that I attend every year. Sold lots. Made money to buy motorcycle parts. The dude in the space next to mine had the coolest cat on the planet.

Then, in the evenings after the swap meet, I worked on my project motorcycle.

First is doing the doohickey. That's cam chain tensioner to those who aren't fluent in KLR650 speak.

Homemade flywheel holder wrench FTW

Then I tore the forks apart for a refresh and upgrades.

Now I wait on parts.

Quiet weekend. Did some laundry, cooking, bit of work on the miata, then watched a play Sunday afternoon at the University (my wife's the costumer). Walked about three or four. miles each day on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday had to work again a bit. Then sold my broken Mazda6 in less than 24 hours on Facebook. Queso Kid 1 had a birthday party yesterday. Went by too fast.

I'm a member of British Motorcars of New England (BMCNE) car club. Today we had a spectacular tour of Factory Five in Wareham, MA. I'll post more pics tomorrow after I compile and edit them. But for now, there's this:

I cooked on Saturday, whole wheat pecan blueberry pancakes for a late breakfast, then a tomato sauce and roasted cauliflower for dinner.

Now I'm about to leave for an autocross with Martin Sports Car Club, first event at our usual venue for the first time in many months since the lot was repaved.

Nerd stuff.  Guess what I'm doing this coming weekend?  Yup, more nerd stuff.  But on Sunday I'll be in the St Patrick's Day parade in Cleveland if you want to see my nerd stuff (and friends).

Tomorrow we go to Woodstock and Putnam, CT, to continue the celebration. And we're not even Irish. 🤣

Worked Saturday, missed an autocross at the Firm hosted by Buccaneer SCCA out of Jacksonville. It's their first event of the year due to losing their regular venue and I really am sorry to miss it, since I haven't been to one of their events since last fall. I miss seeing my friends!

Today I'm heading south to the Saint Lucie County fairgrounds for a Central Florida SCCA event, running the Miata in E Street.

It should be the last time I do a 300 mile round trip in the Miata, my new to me trailer is getting new tires tomorrow.

Apparently I will be spending the balance of the weekend barfing from whatever sickness has been floating around town.
We picked up a lot of "stuff" from the house of a recently departed in-law in-law so to make room for it, after putting the kids to bed, my wife and I tossed a Saabaru full of things we only use occasionally (or not at all -- looking at you, waders). As we kept going I kept feeling more and more "full" despite not having had dinner. Now I'm getting the little shakes >:/

I was wrong. It's diarrhea. Which -- and this may sound odd -- is kind of nice to have. I've been chronically constipated my whole life so to have it come out without trouble is a relief. So to speak.

My daughter and I did a slash and weed on my neglected for years blackberry vines.  This is an after shot.  Next will be the feeding part with the manure currently residing in the bed of the pick up truck.  And as a PSA (no pictures unfortunately) don't expect a cockatoo to actually help with the weeding.

After that we went out and had dinner.  And there was much rejoicing.

The kid is enamored of his 1:18 Mustang. This morning I went digging through some boxes and found my old Burago 250 GTO. We spend a little time this morning disassembling, polishing the paint and windows, and then putting it back together after gluing the shift lever back together. He loves it. Next week he'll love something else, but right now, he loves this.

Might actually get the lawn mowed tomorrow if I can get a mower to run. We'll see. It's in need of a carb rebuild and general TLC but maybe we can get another week or two out of it as it sits.

Saturday morning The BMCNE club had a meet-up at TWS Motors in Taunton, MA. This company was previously known as "The Wedge Shop," and specializes in TR7s and TR8s. Founder Woody Cooper is still involved in the business and his specialty is modifying TR8s. We saw some interesting cars, but here's Woody's personal TR8:

We had a good explanation and demonstration of a 1-2-3 Ignition installation:

All was well until Woody fired up "BAD8" and nearly asphyxiated everybody. 😬
