Damn that is a sweet carrying case!
We had a Northeast reunion of the Fisher Body Craftsman's Guild winners at the Piston Palace car museum in Warwick, RI. (Those of us still alive and somewhat coherent, that is).
One of my models is on permanent display at the Piston Palace, a bit aged and with some patina after nearly 60 years:

Straying off topic but the peaked windshield you used on the copper and bronze models is an interesting touch. Some of GM's prettier mid-late 60s designs had a similar peak in the front glass that works really well. If you can remember, I'm curious whether you chose that as a deliberate nod to GM styling, or just as a design choice.
In reply to DarkMonohue :
Totally my own design. I'd like to think I influenced the exterior designers ("stylists") at the Tech Center in Warren, MI, who were the judges for the Fisher Body contest every year š. But I'm sure it's just a coincidence. Actually, my first sketch of this model was a plan view to create an "arrowhead" appearance from above. Then I worked on manually developing the other surfaces. That was all done before I started carving the shape in wood.
Was a quiet weekend. Next weekend will be the start of the taking season as leaves have started to fall. This comming weekend I think I will be trying to get the yard and cars ready for winter. Get the fall vacuuming of the cars done and get a good layer of wax on the.
Annie and I are spending the weekend in Newport, RI. We're signed up for the Emory 356 Outlaw Reunion seminar on Saturday and the Audrain Concours d'Elegance at The Breakers mansion grounds on Sunday. Pics to follow.
Two consecutive Amazon Flex routes Saturday then flying to Michigan to start a week of very niche, almost pointless training on some very niche, almost useless machines.
Helping my wife with a craft fair all weekend actually.
She has a new sarcastic t-shirt design that she's launching too.
Karmann and Ghia the Boxers entertainment and chew toy since Mrs. preach went to her mother's for the weekend. Playing with them all day is actually one of my favorite things to do. I also went out and got some beef bones to occupy then for the other thing I want to do this weekend, see below.
Also need to get my 5cyl on a stand and make sure it rotates so I can see how bad a $150 engine is.
As I mentioned earlier, this past weekend was the Audrain Concours d'Elegance in Newport, RI. Saturday was the road tour for the cars competing in the Concours on Sunday. They returned from the tour and parked on Bellevue Ave. in front of the Audrain Museum. Here are some pics:
After that Annie and I went to a seminar on Porsche 356 Outlaws with Gary and Rod Emory, and John Oates:
Rod and Gary and team built the Outlaw for John Oates ("Hall & Oates" band from the seventies). Outside the auditorium were a number of other Outlaws built by Emory Outlaws:
Sunday was the Concours ... a couple hundred cars and around 10,000 spectators. A few of the many pics I took:
And the winner of Best in Show, a custom-bodied Maserati from the fifties:
A couple official Audrain photos below:
A couple hours after the PBX racing special won an award at the Concours, I saw it parked on Thames Street in Newport, left unattended. (Note trash bins nearby).
I had also seen this car racing at the Lime Rock Vintage Festival on Labor Day Weekend. It's a recently-completed very expensive restoration of an important SCCA H-Modified racer from the early fifties. If it was mine, I probably wouldn't park it on the street like that.
That "Sand?" colored 356 just made my pants tight.
On the off-chance State Farm gets back to us this week with a reasonable offer, hopefully we will get the fiance in a new car.
Also some neighborhood garage sale thing, in which I will not be participating, the fiance loves stuff like that so she can do it.

That's the John Oates car. Unbelievably beautiful build by the Emory team. (The donor car was junk). During the seminar Rod and John discussed the color at length. It's a proprietary mix. Again, beautiful.
Here's John with the car on the Angeles Crest Highway (CA State Highway 2. Believe me, it's a great drive if you ever have the chance, even with a rental car. Wring it out).
I had a week off that I spent doing almost nothing on my to-do list, but headed off Bridgeport NJ Saturday to play pit crew and we picked up another win.
Sunday we had my first outing in the co-owned former Challenge car "The Guac". It was different than what I'm used to, that is certainly a truth. No power steering in a FWD car designed for power steering took some getting used to. A bit of development though and I think it'll be fun.
And for those wondering what to run on a Challenge car: genuinely sticky tires will pay HUGE dividends in how the car does. Beg or borrow some fresh-ish A7's and it will absolutely change where you place.
Visiting Alabama with some friends I haven't seen in a long time and some I hadn't met yet.
Also three days of rallycross
Annie and I went to a British + Euro car show at Taylor Brooke Brewery today:
And of course there were some nice brews on tap:
And great Irish drinking music:
All in all ... a great Saturday afternoon for car folks.
Periodically I check this thread just to see if Gary has posted another pic enjoying some wine. I am never disappointed.
Spread horse manure this morning-- well, actually I just loaded horse manure and my wife spread it.
Heading out for a night currency flight shortly.
Kanc Cruise for Make-a-Wish today. Pics to come.
