Relaxing after a trip to Mackinac island for my oldest kiddos bday. I'm beat after the drive, walking, and not sleeping.
Well, not me. But son Jason brought daughter Katie (our granddaughter) to a Red Sox game at Fenway Park. Jason caught a foul ball down the RF line near first base. They were 10-12 rows up. Anyway, Katie (10 years old) is a baseball fan and was thrilled with the souvenir. It's a Rawlings.

That picture inspired me to create an axiom "a picture is worth a thousands words"...maybe it'll catch on.
Had a nice little 70th birthday garden party for Trish. Friends, family, great food and way too much wine.

My mom insists that I attend next year . Let's meet up
Little late but let's see.
Purchased a new safe. Bigger than I initially wanted but my wife reminded me of the stuff she was going to put in it so I now have a new safe in the back of my wife's H2 that I have no clue how I am going to get out and in the house due to it being close to 400 lbs. (Next weekends fun)
Got some long needed excersize by walking both days at the high school running track.
Got the biannual mid summer wash of the cars done.
Looked at the replacement door handel for the H2 and we came t an agreement that it can continue to slumber in its box till next weekend.
Mowed the lawn
Investigated wife's reports of seeing a snake or two in the front garden last week. No snake found.
Went to the range and dialed in the optics on one of my rifle's at 100 yards and then burned through a $20 spot making a 8" steel ring at 100 yards.
Went to pick up a Sako bolt action rifle only to find that it was winmag not creedmore so I walked away. It was a really good deal but winmag is not really good for rage use unless you have a thousand yards to play on.
Did some testing in the company lab of some clear UV fluorescing tracer dyes that we are looking to use in an up coming investigation in the next couple weeks. It is so nice to do this stuff with none of my employees around. Not that I don't like any of them but there are times I just want to be left to my self to get stuff done. On a side note I found a really good non toxic tracer dye that makes water light up like a florescent bulb even when trace amounts are present. I tested and compared 4 samples we got from a supplier of floressent power pigments/dyes used in trace amounts in paints. It was really cool to put water that has the dye in it on a white painted surface and see it make the color come alive. It took regular white and turned it up to 11.
I think that is all of what I did. Was a bit of a hectic weekend.
Not much last weekend, however this weekend we are going down to the "Uptown District" so I can go check out this barcade called Up/Down.
Found out they have Ivan Ironman Stewarts Super Off Road. If only I had $8k laying around for a fully restored version.

I ran the #263 car at High Plains. It was not the most successful of races for me. The car was significantly down on power. I found a leaky fuel logged float and replaced it (Shout out to Pete Christensen of Total Precision Enginees for his excellent support) but the car still had no power. I fear the rich condition scored a cylinder or two. Still, I enjoyed being at the track and this is the one race a year that my wife can attend so I had the best looking crew chief in the paddock.
Picked up a kit to do an oil and filter change on the lawn and garden tractor this weekend.
Even at a current 10% off sale, John Deere charges quite a fair bit of money for the brightly colored box they put the kit in.
First service for this unit, so after taking the mover deck off, will see if there's a way to get the tractor up on the 4 post lift to see if it makes the service any easier. I think its wheel base is large enough it will work to put it across the lift.
This weekend will be my first on the new Saturday rotation at work. Every third instead of every other, so that's good news. I'll likely spend a couple hours practicing drums. Teacher gave me some rudiments and exercises to practice. My hands are getting better, feet still need attention (left in particular). Hopefully finishing my home build press by knocking off the sharp stuff and painting. And playing D&D with the B group, which is the one where I get to actually play. Should be ok all told.
What am I doing this weekend? Getting married.
After a little more than 2.5 years together, we're tying the knot on Saturday and then heading out for a mini-honeymoon on Sunday. We'll do a longer, proper honeymoon in winter when she doesnt have to work as much (she's a florist doing OTHER people's weddings too ha)

Yes. Definitely.
Did an autocross, got a decent top-third finish for a course with long straightaways. Got 2nd on a smaller course last weekend. Also went for a bike ride at a nearby park.

Congratulations! I wish you both many years of happiness.
We're in Nashville for the Indycar race. Visited the IMS museum yesterday. We'll be at the Lane Motor Museum this afternoon. Overall a good week.
Working on getting the XJR out the garage to start the process of getting my 190e from Texas to here.

I forgot about that. Dang it. . .. I am at the lake house this weekend. I would have loved to come down and spectate. We won that lemons race years ago.

What version of the 190E do you have? I had the 2.6 and it was a great little car. I wanted to put a manual in it but ended up selling it as the back seat did not work with car seats. I upgraded the shocks and the tires and it transformed the car. I never got it on track for a test and tune day but it would have been a blast.
In reply to dean1484 :
190e sportline. Originally a 2.6 auto but it has a m104.980 (3.0) swap with a manual.
I'll be at NHMS turning wrenches and supporting a friend driving a Vee for the Paul Faford Memorial Vee weekend. First up a half day with SCDA tomorrow to get the car prepped and ready.

Now that is cool!!!!
Just read you thread and I am fighting the urge to start looking for another one. I have a couple projects at the moment so another car in the yard is not an option.
You'll need to log in to post.
