BTW, remember, do NOT associate Rally America (er, I guess Rally Car) with X-Games. They have nothing more to do with it than simply being consultants and the series using their "stars"! If ESPN and X-Games do not want to take their advice, they do not have to. The "rally" racing at X-Games also has no link whatsoever with Rally Car's euro rally-x series. Doug Havir explained all of this on SpecialStage and Nasioc.

That makes me feel much better.

I had a discussion with a friend of mine, and we came to the conclusion that the intended audience would have enjoyed it just as much if the whole three hours of programming had been the three podium winners doing what they did after the race was over (donuts, screaming, riding around half out of the car, and doing jumps over the "joker"...)

That was kind of like watching a monster truck (race?) put on in a basketball court size stadium. Even last year was a little tight, this way WAY to tight.

Looking at the Google map of the Coliseum there's plenty of nice big parking lots they could have used for some asphalt sections (although I have no real knowledge of the layout and if that's possible)..... .....The Super Rally, however, was far more entertaining (except for the errant flag, and the subsequent breakdown of the event). Simple and straightforward. I'm hoping that the success of this format offers some guidance to improving the rally event in the future.

I believe it is pretty much a standard to change every year.

Spreading it out to the parking lot seem like a good idea except for the fact that the parking at the Coliseum is HORRIBLE. That parking lot is WAY to small already. It is common practice to have to pay to park on peoples lawns during events, did I mention it is in one of the worst neighborhoods in Los Angeles. I went to a super cross there once, NEVER again.
