Case in point; Cal Crutchlow, MotoGP rider. He hasn't had a very good start to the season. He had an off in last weekends race at COTA. https://www.youtube.com/embed/SVEF12WJNYw To top that off upon returning to his home in Tuscany he found that his home had been burgled and his van stolen while he was away racing.
He made a post on his Twitter account about it, only to be greeted by these gems;
"@calcrutchlow good job you wasn't there get away driver cause you would of Defo crashed"
"@calcrutchlow the Bastards didn't steal your anal beads did they?"
"@calcrutchlow stop crashing"
Have to admit I chuckled at them but talk about kicking someone when they are down. Some peoples kids.
I was anticipating something along the lines of “we took our time driving away knowing you couldn’t catch anything”.
I always imaging the people who do things like that getting into a huge accident. They're not killed in it but they have both their testicles amputated.
When they look down and remember what's missing, maybe they think back to the chain of events that started with taking time to make those senseless tweets instead of taking three more steps to avoid that event that cost them their nuts.
Sorry. That sounds dark but a shiny happy person bully is an shiny happy person.
The thread title should have read "childish," not brutal.

But then how would I get all the clicks?
Find out how this one secrete makes choosing a thread title easy...

I have to say(not that this is directly related), but it's even worse for women online. I'm no capital-F Feminist but cheebus, people can be complete shiny happy people, especially when hiding behind a router.

Anyone seen the movie, "jay and silent bob strike back"? Not that it's a great movie, or anything, but one of the subplots is people are trashing jay and bob online, and they use the money from the movie deal to travel to their houses and issue beat downs. 10 years ago I thought it was a goofy and absurd idea. The more YouTube/news article comments I read, the more I think they had the right idea. You're a lot less likely to be a dick when you're on the hook for what you say.

Modern way of bullying (I call it E-thugging) has no hierarchy it is just a free for all. Of course they wouldn't say these things in person. Perhaps a virtual-reality beat down is in order.
Fortunately it happens rarely on this board, but I'm a member of some other web boards that have more than a few trolls. The funny thing is I've met one of the worst ones in person and he's very personable and charming, but online he's an idiot. I can't figure out that kind of behavior.

Yeah, but online he's also a hot horny blonde woman that's 20 years younger, so...

I met a guy like that once.
In person he was just a skinny avionics tech in San Antonio. On craigslist's "Rants" section he was "fernandeuxter" or something to that effect and would post these long (and extremely witty) racist rants.
He would go after Mexicans and pretty much target mexican stereotypes the way a racist comedian would and these people would jump in and pretty much argue back and forth (some agreed with him, others not). Anyhoo, his name was Fernando in real life, and he was Mexican. He was also a real nice guy in person.
I asked him "why" one day and he pretty much said it was his "release".
