SVG is indeed a universal vector 2D format that is very portable.

I use the free Fusion 360 for personal stuff and we have the paid version at work. No hassles, popups or watermarks if we move files back and forth. Just an FYI.
Do you need to renew this ever year ?
In reply to californiamilleghia :

This was a bust for me, I could not get this to install after trying for a couple of hours.
Dassault did respond and processed a refund though.
Would a single license be accesible from two locations?

Odd, i was able to get mine downloaded yesterday without any issues
I tried the cloud based one and so far I feel like it was a complete waste of money...
It crashes frequently, it is very slow, and worst, there is a giant white oval on my screen covering literally everything I need to be able to see and I can't figure out how to make it go away.
like I can move things around and see the part 'behind' this giant oval of death, but WTB? How do I get rid of this oval? Also, I thought using the cloud based version would be the way to go since my computer is older, but now I'm wishing I got the download license.
well, they have a system requirement checker for thier cloud apps. And I don't score well...
apparently I don't have a certified workstation or graphics card. ok, fine.
1. I wish I could have run this before paying
2. This is sorta why I wanted the cloud version? I figured that I'd be able to have the cloud resources do most of the computing work and I'd just be interfacing?
It would seem that my work laptop can actually sort of hang with this cloud software, so I'll probably just do that for now.
but I also learned about running an external GPU today (they're not called graphics or video cards much anymore, apparently ...), so there's a whole nother rabbit hole to explore. That basically means running someone's used desktop GPU - that they sold on eBay becuase bitcoin mining was no longer fun or profitable - externally on my old laptop. Since it seems that the majority of the cad software depends on the GPU (many games are similar maybe?) this can be a way to run cad software on an older laptop.
