The '66 Falcon I just bought has a decal on the top of the grille that says, simply, "Columbus Road Controller". If I had to guess (and I do), I'd say the font looks to be from the 70s-80s. Google came up empty, aside from one Ebay auction of a give-away style box cutter with a garage's name on the other side.
I'm thinking maybe some type of shock absorber?
If anyone has heard of this brand or 'thing' please let me know. My curiosity must be satiated.
Given that the car is a '66 and the font could be 70's I just have this vague feeling that a "road controller" could be some gimmick intended for better mpg during the fuel crisis years. Just a guess.
Shocks. Try Google Image Search with quotes around all text. Finds old newspaper ads, and yes, pictures of shock absorbers too.

AP was a Toledo based exhaust and parts company. I wouldn't doubt if these were re-badged Monroe shocks from just up the street in Monroe, Mi.
