man arrested for posting Exodus lyrics on facebook

this wouldn't happen if more people did the Toxic Waltz

i just hope this doesn't make Tipper Gore come crawling out of obscurity, but it would be good to see Dee Snider in front of a congressional committee again... it has been 30 years..

And really, who posts E36 M3 like that as a status update? At least cite the source.

I thought there was an amendment to the first amendment which states that first amendment rights are only to be granted to people you agree with?

nope... i chose the thread title because it fits best. for some reason, people still take the lyrics of hard rock and metal songs literally and don't understand that it can sometimes be a brutally honest way of talking about and dealing with some not so pleasant things... like the Exodus song that the guy posted the lyrics to and got arrested- it was about a school shooting, not telling anyone to go out and do a school shooting..

with google being right there you can put any song lyrics (or any phrase or sentence that you aren't quite sure about) in it and it will find the song or poem or whatever and help you figure out the context, so there is no reason to misconstrue what it is saying any more.

so, short of this guy having a history of mental illness and violent behavior, there is no reason to arrest him for posting what he did.

That is the article of "Shut the berkeley Up" but it is a bit rude so contradicts the principals on which it was founded. As completely American as that seems... apparently saying STFU is not enough so the whole damn amendment has to go. We can't have people getting upset about what others might say, afterall.

Hey... you are right!!

I got something to say
I killed your baby today
And it doesn't matter much to me
As long as it's dead

Well I got something to say
I raped your mother today
And it doesn't matter much to me
As long as she spread

Sweet lovely death
I am waiting for your breath
Come sweet death, one last caress

I'll just be sitting here waiting for the swat team.

I'll join you

Creeping in the shadows

Shadows of the night

Wading through the darkness

A death before the light

Blending in with faces

Faces of the night

Safe at home in comfort

At home is where you'll die

Watching you

Knowing your every move

Hearing you

Every single word that you spew

Carving you

Is what I'm about to do

Saving you

From the torment of this earth to be buried for rebirth

Silently I enter through the broken basement window now to wait

It's twelve o'clock the time has come ascend the staircase to the hunted one

Make way to the second floor right outside your open bedroom door

One last time to sleep in peace unaware of brutal things that

Will be done

To you after you awake

Enter slow

Machete leads the way

Eerie calm

Death is in the air

Savage thrust

Death is everywhere

Adrenaline is pumping as my heart is pounding faster yours slows down

Choke on blood and breathe your last breath mangled

Guts I wear to celebrate

Stay inside and berkeley the corpse an innards orgy satisfies my needs

Finally I feel complete by eating brains and flesh

Followed home then killed

Sacrificed in vain

Followed home then killed

I stalked you for years

Followed home then killed

Take what's left in garbage bags and throw them in a hole I dug out back

Clean the room I killed you in making sure the clues of sin are gone

Revel in my vicious deed and replay what had happened in my head

Vivid memories of you remain of your remains

Followed home then killed

Sacrificed in vain

Followed home then killed

I stalked you for years

Followed home then killed

Followed home then killed

I would assume the people on faceballs would know me well enough that if I posted the lyrics of a band that I liked, they know that its just from a song.

Of coarse people could become concerned. I get that.

But if the cops showed up, all that should happen is: here's the lyrics to a song of a band I like. Look, here's the CD of said band. Look, here's multiple albums of said band, showing you how much I like them.

OK have a good day then.

That's all that should have happened. Oi!

Kill for gain or shoot to maim
But we don't need a reason
To Golden Goose is on the loose
And never out of season
Blackened pride still burns inside
This shell of bloody treason
Here's my gun for a barrel of fun
For the love of living death

The killer's breed or the Demon's seed,
The glamour, the fortune, the pain,
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain
Don't you pray for my soul anymore?

2 minutes to midnight,
The hands that threaten doom.
2 minutes to midnight,
To kill the unborn in the womb.

The blind men shout "Let the creatures out
We'll show the unbelievers."
The napalm screams of human flames
Of a prime time Belsen feast ... yeah!
As the reasons for the carnage cut their meat and lick the gravy
We oil the jaws of the war machine and feed it with our babies.

The killer's breed or the Demon's seed,
The glamour, the fortune, the pain,
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain
Don't you pray for my soul anymore.

2 minutes to midnight,
The hands that threaten doom.
2 minutes to midnight,
To kill the unborn in the womb.

The body bags and little rags of children torn in two
And the jellied brains of those who remain to put the finger right on you
As the madmen play on words and make us all dance to their song
To the tune of starving millions to make a better kind of gun.

The killer's breed or the Demon's seed,
The glamour, the fortune, the pain,
Go to war again, blood is freedom's stain
Don't you pray for my soul anymore.

2 minutes to midnight,
The hands that threaten doom.
2 minutes to midnight,
To kill the unborn in the womb.

To lighten the mood how about a little love ballot from a '60's British quartet?

Feel so good I feel so fine

Love that little lady always on my mind

Gives me lovin' every night and day

Never gonna leave her, never goin' away

Someone to love me

You know she makes me feel alright

Someone who needs me

Love me every single night

Feel so happy since I met that girl

When we're making love it's something out of this world

Feels so good to know that she's all mine

Going to love that woman 'til the end of time

Someone to live for

Love me 'til the end of time

Makes me feel happy

Good to know that she's all mine

Lovely lady make love all night long

Lovely lady never do me wrong

I don't wanna leave ya

I never wanna leave ya,

anymore no more

Lovely lady, mystifying eyes

Lovely lady, she don't tell me no lies

I know I'll never leave ya

I'm never gonna leave ya anymore no more

I like dirty songs:

Get outta that bed

Wash your face and hands

Get outta that bed

Wash your face and hands

Well, you get in that kitchen

Make some noise with the pots and pans

Way you wear those dresses

The sun comes shinin' through

Way you wear those dresses

The sun comes shinin' through

I can't believe my eyes

All that mess belongs to you

I believe to the soul

You're the devil and now I know

I believe to the soul

You're the devil and now I know

Well, the more I work

The faster my money goes

I said shake, rattle and roll

Shake, rattle and roll

Shake, rattle and roll

Shake, rattle and roll

Well, you won't do right

To save your doggone soul

Yeah, blow, Joe

I'm like a one-eyed cat

Peepin' in a seafood store

I'm like a one-eyed cat

Peepin' in a seafood store

Well, I can look at you

Till you ain't no child no more

Ah, shake, rattle and roll

Shake, rattle and roll

Shake, rattle and roll

Shake, rattle and roll

Well, you won't do right

Yo save your doggone soul

I get over the hill

And way down underneath

I get over the hill

And way down underneath

You make me roll my eyes

Even make me grit my teeth

I said shake, rattle and roll

Shake, rattle and roll

Shake, rattle and roll

Shake, rattle and roll

Well, you won't do nothin'

To save your doggone soul

Shake, rattle and roll

that's from the 70's, which was like the 60's, only darker..

here's one that will get the grief counselers running to knock down my door:

Here I sit and watch my world come crumbling down

I cry for help but no one's around

Silently screaming as I bang my head against the wall

It seems like no one cares at all

Always an emotion,

but how can I explain; how can I explain?

Kind of like the scent of a rose,

with words I can't explain,

the same with my pain

Caught up in emotion,

goes over my head; goes over my head!

Sometimes I got to think to myself is this life or death, am I living or am I dead?

The clock keeps ticking,

but nothing else seems to change

Problems never solved, just rearranged

And when I think about all the times that I've had

Some were good most were bad

I search for personality and I look for things I cannot see

Love and peace flash through my mind; pain and hate is all I find

Find no hope in nothing new and I never had a dream come true

Lies and hate and agony; through my eyes that's all I see

If I'm gonna cry, will you wipe away my tears?

And if I'm gonna die, Lord please take away my fear

Before I drown in sorrow, I just want to say;

How will I laugh tomorrow, when I can't even smile today

Today today; when I can't even smile today

Today today; when I can't even smile today

How will I laugh tomorrow, when I can't even smile today

How will I laugh tomorrow, when I can't even smile today

You think something's funny?

...laugh at this!

So when I look outside my room

I see the world, but not the reason

What is done to me is not fair

You call it fair I call it treason

But I don't know what to do

Give me a sign I'll take whatever

But if you want me here I am

Ain't gonna die forever

And I tried to hold ya

But you just turned away

And I tried to tell ya

But not a word I say

I cried out so loudly

But you just covered your ears

And gave me all the signs

That you don't want my tears

So if you want me here I am

I sit and wait your decision

But my body fights my mind

I headed straight for a collision

So am I getting near or am I still

Looking in all the wrong places

But the only thing that seems to change

Are the looks on the faces...

Doesn't anyone...seems like no one cares at all

I search for personality and look for things I cannot see

Does anyone even care at all?

Love and peace flash through my mind; pain and hate is all I find

Seems like no one cares at all

Find no hope in nothing new and I never had a dream come true

Does anyone even care at all?

Lies and hate and agony; through my eyes that's all I see

Seems like no one cares at all

How will I laugh tomorrow?

How will I laugh tomorrow?

How will I laugh tomorrow?

How will I laugh tomorrow, when I can't even smile today

Today today; when I can't even smile today

Today today; when I can't even smile today

How will I laugh tomorrow, when I can't even smile today

How will I laugh tomorrow, when I can't even smile today...

You ask me if I love you And I choke on my reply I'd rather hurt you honestly Than mislead you with a lie

For who am I to judge you In what you say or do I'm only just beginning To see the real you

[Chorus] And sometimes when we touch The honesty's too much And I have to close my eyes And hide I want to hold you till I die Till we both break down and cry I want to hold you till the fear in me subsides

Romance's an honest strategy Leaves me battling with my pride But through the insecurity Some tenderness survives I'm just another writer Still trapped within my truth A hesitant prize-fighter Still trapped within my youth

[Chorus]

At times I'd like to break you And drive you to your knees At times I'd like to break through And hold you endlessly At times I understand you And I know how hard you try I've watched while love commands you And I've watched love pass you by At times I think we're drifters Still searching for a friend A brother or a sister But then the passion flares again

Even Dan Hill seems dark when not cited.

Yea I knew the song was early '70's, but Black Sabbath formed in '68 and first recorded in '69. I liked the fact that just reading the lyrics to Sabbra Cadabra looks like it could have been a Beatles song. A bit of the other side of the coin to the guy getting arrested for posting Exodus lyrics.

I has a sad because the first time I ever heard it was the Metallica cover. Although their cover's CD opened up quite a few songs/bands I would have missed otherwise.
