Go ahead jerk that smoke wagon and see what happens, (slap)
My wife and I both enjoyed:

This!
Lately, we've been hooked on Fringe. Chuck is a lot of fun, as is MST3K and Burn Notice. For good old Brit humor, Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf, and Black Adder.
Some stuff I recommend to burn through hours and hours on Netflix are.
Shows
Movies
That should keep you busy for a good long while.
+1 for Chuck. Be careful, though. I just spent the last week spending basically every spare moment going through all five seasons - it's highly addictive.
I just watched Soldiers of Paint the other night.......documentary of the worlds largest paintball game(D-Day themed at that) in Oklahoma. I was entertained the whole time.
If you like bikes, Faster, Fastest, and Charge are all worth a watch.

Whoa, Red Dwarf is on Netflix? Badass!
Oh a +1 for An Idiot Abroad.

How could you not like Karl Pilkington? He is a mix of an innocent child and the part of a hobbit that doesn't like to leave the Shire or adventures.
We just started on Arrow, which is way better than I expected. We are also watching Leverage. Also try The Finder. There is also Black Adder, which I find funny as hell.
As for movies, I have no idea. We gave up watching movies until they refresh again. It is like they paid for the rights to The Avengers and used the leftover pocket change to buy D-grade direct-to-video crap in bulk.
Yank Tanks documentary was pretty good if you havent seen it. Not sure if its still available streaming but I watched it a few years ago.
The Killing. It's a drama following a murder investigation. It's not CSI, there's no pretty people that are able to unravel an incredibly complex mystery in 42 minutes.
I'll also +1 on Idiot Abroad, though it made me hate Rickey Gervais
Documentaries. Lots of great ones.
^The Following with Kevin Back isn't bad as well, only 1 season on Netflix though.
Many of you guys have already touched on a lot of good stuff, and I'll definitely +1 An Idiot Abroad.
If it is still on there, "The World Without US" is a good watch as well. Spaceballs is on there currently as well.
+1s for Futurama, Black Adder, Red Dwarf, and Burn Notice. I think they may also have the first two seasons of the current Sherlock series, and some Dr Who?
Bones is another good one.
They have (or have had) some of Terry Jones' historical documentaries-with-comedy. You know, pretty much what you'd expect of a former Python with a genuine interest in history. Speaking of Pythons, Michael Palin's travel stuff can be enjoyable as well.
Usual Suspects, Pulp Fiction, Graceland(foreign with subtitles)Great movie-disturbing if you have a little girl...just saying, complete 30 Rock seasons-great stuff--Sherlock from BBC my favorite
I've been watching a series called Continuum. A cop (Scarlett from the GI Joe Movie) from the future is pulled back to present day with a bunch of convicts escaping execution by the time travel.
As a bonus there are several Battlestar Galactica stars as recurring characters and doing cameos.
Then there's always Firefly...

I started watching it on TV. It seemed like it became pretty ridiculous. At every turn the person that they were confiding in or needed to help them was a follower. It just got silly after a while. I was able to say "there's a follower, there's another one" because it was basically everyone. I'm not the brightest tool in the crayon box shed, but if I can predict it, it must be bad.
