Not all of them. The trick things now are \equalization tubes on short primaries, playing with different collector angles, and sometimes expansion chambers.
There's a lot of power to be had in the exhaust system and true dual tends to throw a lot of it away.

There's some guys who have a 13B engined Starlet with a non-exhaust on it. When they are just idling staged at the light, you can't hear an open-headered V8 doing a burnout right next to it.
