happened at Daytona last nite in the Nationwide race. After a week of speculation about the handling of the new cars and drivers were complaining about the bumps and the slippery track, there was no "big one". Only a couple of minor ones. Wonder why Joey didn't try to pass Jr. ? Oh, that's right Jr. had to win in the #3.
i watched it last night, and i think there was no 'big one' because everyone was afraid to try anything. whenever anyone would get out of line, they'd start dirt tracking around the corners. it made for some good tv, but those guys get a little skittish about taking corners like a late model modified when they are going 190mph..
yes, Jr winning the race with an old paint scheme of his dad's on a car with a number that was on the car that he used to dominate the then-Busch series with in the late 90's was kind of a big deal (they have and will sell a lot of merchandise from that), but ultimately it's a long race that everyone out there wants to win and i don't think Joey Logano's dad would let the kid not pass someone if it meant he could win the race. i'll get more excited when Jr runs a silver and Black #3 with GM Goodwrench decals in the Cup series and wins..
