And, sometimes when I get bored and have just a little extra money I start to get dumb ideas.
And, sometimes when I get bored and have a little extra money and get dumb ideas I act on them.
And you end up with this.

It was a brilliant idea in my head. Each individual piece looked good sitting on the bench. But, put it all together and I'm not sure I like it.
I think the little red line around the perimeter is throwing it off. Maybe it would look better just silver?
How bad is it?
Well, you bought a Hardley-Ridison, so that's pretty bad...

I was talking about the pinstripes.

I don't see anything off. Looks good!
The line on the tank that goes up and over the frame should just terminate at the front, everything else I can see works. I'd like better shot of the oil tank though. It's not so much out outlining and using the lines to give a sense of speed.
Bottom line on the tank is the only thing off to my eye. Looks great otherwise.

I think you're asking for a better shot of the oil tank.

Absolutely horrible. But in the spirit and brotherhood of GRM, I'll ride it for you, saving you the emberasment of those pin stripes.

As far as dumb ideas go, that doesn't even come close. Not one little bit.

I like the pin striping a lot but I grew up with people who felt you couldn't have enough striping or lettering. Probably the same reason I don't care for the lack of gloss on the black. My grandfather would be rolling in his grave if I got something striped without having a decent shine on the paint.
In reply to Wall-e:
I agree about the flat paint. I have thought about clearing it several times. I may still do it eventually. But then I would actually have to paint the fairing, it's just plastidip at the moment.

I think it gives the bike a nice classic look, but I'm not 100% sure it goes with the matte black theme.
Wrap those pipes!

I've seen tons of red and silver lines on flat black rods. It always works.
It looks great.

On the contrary, I think the silver is throwing it off. With the silver accents already on the bike, it would look better with just the red contrast.
You don't like it? I was gonna say "I didn't know a Harley could look so cool!"
