I just hope everyone relaxes a little once we're no longer being bombarded with all the negativity due to the election, and can start thinking more about important things like turkey vs. prime rib.

Prime rib. Duh.
I'm with this guy.
The only time turkey is an acceptable "food" is when it's the leg, and the leg ONLY, and it MUST be smoked, BBQ'd, or fried. That's it.

Troof. I eat turkey twice a year Thanksgiving and Christmas and that is only if it has been smoked or fried (never had BBQ'd Turkey though).
berkeley. Now I'm hungry.

The "Letting Go Of God" thread went from actual discussion to floundering very quick. If folks want to talk about Turkey vs Prime Rib, then start another thread and let this one die.
eI didn't have prime rib the other night and I the one who didn't get dirrhea.

Wait, what? I participated in that thread quite heavily, and I thought discussion was fine. No, we didn't agree, and probably never will. But there wasn't any name calling and hysteria, either.
Nah, he just left off a word or two. Let's fill it in:
"Go Home Sperlo, your drunk mama needs you."
Or maybe:
"Go Home Sperlo, your drunk llama just spilled a tub of butter in the kitchen."
Mama is out flying. Must be the llama.
Yeah but you can't make Prime Rib soup.

No, PHeller was stating he is your intoxicated servant.
You should monitor his consumption to ensure acceptable levels of performance.
Prime rib and turkey BOTH. (I'm a greedy pig.)
And there's gonna be a lot of hatred for me in a moment.
This woman displayed approximately the same judgment Michael Jackson did when he dangled his kid out of a hotel window. The whole world came down on him about that, and rightfully so. In both cases, a kid's life was put in danger due to the poor judgment of a parent, only in her case the kid wasn't so lucky. There needs to be a punishment for her poor judgment.
The reason we as a society have punishment for crimes is as a deterrent. If she is any sort of parent at all, she's going to go through hell inside her own mind, but to let her off the punishment hook due to that will not send a good message. The next one might be a copycat done to get rid of a child who's gumming up the parent's life, like the whole Casey Anthony thing a while back.

Or is it that life risks need to be ratcheded up to weed out people you think are weak? That's kinda scary.
I support Darwinism, this doesn't need ratcheted up, just left at a certain level. I'm not thrilled to see a child killed due to this and I'm not thrilled to see taxpayers forced to foot the lifetime bill for this woman.
Personally, I think she has been punished.......however, if she ever attempted to sue the zoo over wrongful death, then I'd have to say feed HER to the wild dogs.
We can all go back and fourth on to punish or not, but a grand jury will see this. They will make the initial decision on weather she should see a judge. This won't be the last we hear of this.

WAIT! I got it! The punishment should be that her son is eaten by dogs right in front of her. Bonus, the already burdened tax payers don't have to spend a cent to try, convict and then incarcerate her. She will imprison her self for life!
berkeleying brilliant!

Unless she happens to be a psycho bitch who found a way to get rid of a problem. Not unheard of.
Look up Munchausen's by proxy also.

Probably not. Some people see a terrible tragedy, some see a criminal act and some are just here for the LOLZ. Call it a dark sense of humor if you must.

You mean he posts some random crap while doing exactly what he is making an observation of, and then expects anything less than to get called on it?
Just in case anybody is wondering, I AM a better human being than that mother, and I will willingly judge her to be an idiot and expect her to have a miserable rest of her life. She deserves it.
BOOM!

As someone who approaches railings with my children and immediately does a 1000-point check regarding their safety and structural integrity, I second your observation regarding that mom's abysmal stupidity.
But she shouldn't face charges unless someone has reason to believe that she wanted her son dead. But that I doubt. What is it? -- "Hanlon's razor", that so truthfully states: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."
