Does anyone have experience with a reputable online source for OEM light for Mopar parts?

I'm looking to buy a set of headlight for a 1998 1500 to replace a set of bad aftermarket lights. Ive found a few online retailers that seem to be selling Mopar parts and accessories, but appearance doesn't always equal reality, especially online.

Before I spend $350 on headlights I'm trying to feel more confident about the retailer.

This is the one I'm looking at ordering from since their listing goes back far enough to get to my body style, but I need to look up for a 2001 since no one seems to list OEM further back than that.

I presume you can buy them from your local Dodge dealer.  If someone has them for more than 20% less online, they are probably genuine Mocar or Nopar parts.

Having said that, most mopars from that era, you needed a flashlight to check whether the headlights were turned on or not...  OEM might not be much better.

Sounds like a trip the pick-n-pull yard in my opinion

Pick and pull was my first thought, but almost everything I see is yellowed and foggy, not to mention brittle.

I'm in Mass and the truck is in FL, so having something shipped to FL so I can install it before driving back is a plus.

I found what should be a decent set of the Sport model headlights with separate high and low bulbs from a local salvage yard.

They will need some clean up, but not excessive, and are supposed to be in good shape with no cracks or broken mounting points.

Does anyone have a favorite restoration/polishing kit they've used?

I know I can get the paper and polishing compound, but I think it will be easier to spend a few dollars more for the kit than to gather up the supplies separately.

I also need to decide where to order my conversion/relay harness from to complete the installation when I get to FL.

You'll need to log in to post.
