I am supplying parts to the railroad and a guy sends me a link to a windshield washer nozzle for the front windshield of a new batch of locomotives to be built. Can I get this part?
So I google the part and find that Pelican Parts has it in stock (SWF part) and that it is for a 911/911S Carrera (1974-1977).
Since the train business is a little behind the curve - I wonder if some engineer back in the day specified the part since he might have had a 70's 911? Any way it made my day - the little things in life, my friends.

I always wondered why locomotives seemed a bit pompous. Porsche parts explains that
I think eBay is where you get locomotive parts. In my Quest for Steam, it was suggested that a steam accessory generator thingie, which powers the passenger cars on steam trains and is about a 10 HP turbine, were occasionally available on eBay. Hey, isn't eBay an advertiser? Y0.
I think the thing you are talking about Dr. is actually a steam generator used on older diesel electric engines. They needed the steam generators for when they were pulling the older cars which needed the steam for heat etc. since they of course did not normally develop any steam.
This was explained to me by a rather classic looking engineer on a Conway railway, which uses older engines. This guy actually:

Yeah, that might be it, but what makes the steam? Not a steam generator, but a generator that runs on steam, of about 10 HP/KW. They run on high pressure steam (very dangerous for amateur steam experimenters.) It was suggested that they might run OK on low pressure steam as well. See, what the world needs is a good 10 HP/KW steam turbine.

I'll bet one from a VW Beetle will fit as well

Looks like you're right.

Probably the same as a Lamborghini, or maybe even the Stratos too.

I love seeing appletree links. Such a tiny little place near where I grew up, yet sells VW parts everywhere.
I thought all hood-mounted washer nozzles were the same standardized part?
In reply to GameboyRMH:
The ones on my hood look nothing like those.
Got the order today. 12 nozzles coming up!
