I had several of them along with that sled. Of course, I had to mod them. Started with gluing extra body parts on, then moved to more power. Instead of the single AA battery, connect a couple of wires to a six volt camp lantern battery. Great fun. Then decided (unwisely) to cut the outlet end off an extension cord and plug into house ac current. GREAT fun!
I always wanted the sled. Had all kinds of fun with the couple that I had. They ate through that one AA battery way too fast.
Yep, had several including the sled. Also a semi and a 2wd Camaro that the front wheels could be locked into a turn so it would run in circles. My favorite toys growing up.
I had a few of them, and we sent off for a Pontiac Firebird in Gold. I think it involved a certain number of proof of purchase cut-outs and a check for shipping and handling.
Don't let them get near hair, or you'll have a Stomper stuck to your head crying while your mom finds the scissors.
I also had some that had a cone-shaped wheel that would support two-wheeled running, and one that had a propeller in the back and a giant hovercraft body so it was amphibious.

I was totally a stomper kid. I must have had dozens of them and was always taking them apart for some reason. I remember thinking I was hopping them up but don't remember what I did
I do know that me twiddling screwdrivers on my toys as a wee kiddo made my father very proud.
Lol, I took a lot more of those apart then ever got put back together.

Hell yeah I had stompers.
Yes! I want to say that I had a blue '57 Nomad.
Loved Stompers... I had a number of them, and IIRC at one point had a 6x6 big rig.
Hey, they did exist!
Not a Stomper, but I do still have this:
Don't look them up on Ebay. Original Schaper ones, especially in the package, sell for ludicrous money. I've looked.
Somehow I never heard of these nor had any, but they look awesome.
In reply to Appleseed :
Yeah, they had faded to memory until a few years ago I went by PacoMotorsports office and he had a couple on his desk. I was bitten by the nostalgia bug for about a minute until I learned the prices they command now.

I had that yellow BRAT and I think a white Bronco.
I'm sure I have told this story here before, but in about 1977-78 we moved to a very old farmhouse on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. We built a huge new barn / garage / workshop about 50 yards behind the house. During construction we ran 3 or 4 4" PVC conduits between the basements for utilities.
When we installed power and phone service to the shop, we were trying to figure out the easiest way to pull the wires. I took one of the Stompers and tied a string to the rollbar. After fresh batteries, I turned it on and put it in one end of the 4" PVC.
It buzzed away out of sight and I kept feeding it string. About 5 minutes later my dad at the other end could see the headlights reflecting down the conduit. A couple minutes after that, it popped out the other end, still towing the pull string behind it.
Worked perfectly.

Still have some, but not as many as I once did. Sadly all are non-op at this point. They still make great office decorations though.
And one of the competing brand Rough Riders:
Tamiya Mini 4wd trucks seem like a spiritual successor in a way. I've had a few, and they trundle along in a very similar way.
I loved those things, and spent hours playing with them.
I had the blue blazer and one other one, don't remember which. Pretty sure sand box duty did mine in.
