CL GOLD!
76 Triumph Spitfire with Maserati Bi-Turbo engine, transmission, and drive-train. This car was built from frame up. All parts have been rebuilt and repainted. The project is 3/4 the way completed. All that needs to be done is hook the steering up, plug in the wiring harnesses, and interior. There are some parts that need to be painted before re-install, but I can provide the paint.
Finish this project and you will have a 300 horsepower two seater sports car that only weighs 50 lbs more than the stock spitfire. This car has the all aluminum bi-turbo engine, Maserati aluminum transmission and rear-end and Maserati suspension. The engine is installed behind the front axle for performance and handling . This car is going to be one of a kind and super fast. I'm moving to Oregon aso I must sell quick.
Good luck with that.
KJ
Say wha?????????????????????????
That's an unholy union if there ever was one!
Not saying that the 1500CC spit engine was much better (dropping thrust bearings like a dub bass dj)
So.... is it like one of those things where two wrongs make a right?
You take two cars known for bad electrics and leaky parts and combine the best parts of both and so, do you get the hell spawn of Satan or the world's best Triumph Spitfire? I'm not sure, but I'm curious to find out!
Now that is cool but not nearly $2500 cool.
Thank goodness.
I thought someone had put a PRV V6 in a Spitfire..

Yeah. Someone should at least try to talk it down below challenge prices...

Reminds me of the CRX with a BMC A-series engine swapped into it only done to poke fun at all the VTEC powered Minis out there.
A Spit powered Maserati was my first thought when I read the OP.
I can honestly say thay i WOULD pay $2500 for that. When will you have the chance again at this insane vehicle?
This car is utterly stupid, but it's the kind that should be nurtured at any cost.

Someone saw the episode of Futurama where they made the world's most evil car by using the most evil component of various other evil cars, and decided that they could do better.
(I was expecting a 4.1l Cad engine, myself. The only thing it's good for is leaks)
Also: wtf is that pile of honda engines.

Guy by the name of John Lane has a 550-odd horsepower PRV in his Volvo rally car. I guess he has more problems with the drivetrain and keeping tires under it than engine problems.
Just look up "john lane volvo" on YouTube and you'll see lots. Looks like a riot.

That's very cool but I think it's kinda like how a frog will stay in a pot of water if you slowly bring it to a boil.
If you don't know any better, you see all the problems as normal functions of the product.
Kinda like General Motors and Microsoft.

+1 not a bad price for what it is.
What's up with the dark picture with all the other engines? Do they come with the car?

That's the floor below truckasaurus' nest. He regurgitates them up like owls do with mouse bones and hair.
That guy really wants to stay home.

Wait, so instead of not running for a year after being caught in a light drizzle, it will instead work one time every full moon and catch on fire?
Oh, and I completely endorse this.......its the type of batE36 M3 crazy that amuses me.
What I don't understand is why he's not taking it to Oregon with him? Its not like Seattle and Oregon are that far apart :)

He's showing that he had the option to use a much more reliable engine but still chose the Bi-turbo.
