I think it's unfortunate that not once, but twice during this short video, people found it necessary to kick the cute robot dog. Who will be able to blame them when one day they rise up against their oppressors and exact their gruesome revenge?
I'm awestruck by spot's reaction to the second kick. I was expecting something more "robotic" in motion and less "dog-ish". That was pretty spectacular!
that is pretty cool.. while I would not arm them (I am imagining these are designed for military use?) They would be very good for moving supplies and moving with the troops without the impact and visibility of a truck
I have to assume these will be weaponized as soon as possible.
The implications of having a disposable force that can be replicated by the millions is interesting. I picture squads of these roaming the streets as eyes for police forces within the next ten to twenty years years.
I think they had to kick it for tradition's sake. Here is a video of its predecessor being kicked on the same icy parking lot in 2008.
Yes, these are being developed for the Army to carry stuff over all sorts of terrain. I'm guessing they were originally spawned from some sort of DARPA funding. People have all seen the Terminator movies and yet they still try to develop Skynet. Go figure.
