I am on break this week, and it has been lovely temperature wise (low 60s). I've been puttering in the garage -- and yesterday I officially marked the arrival of spring by bringing the Miata out of storage. Woo!
The Elise will stay away for another month or so -- I want to enjoy topless for now :)
And the Blue Jays are 9-2 in Spring Training . . .
I take delivery of a sailplane today around 3:00.
Last night I put a new winshield on the freshly painted BMW R-90.
My batch of Rauchbier and Altbier mit Ginger is drinkable now.
I'm taking the rest of the week off to putter with the flutter.
Spring is definately in the air !
Dan
I took the top out in the 944 yesterday. That was fun.
I took the snow tires off and put them away
Bradford pear trees are killing me. Thats how I know spring is here.
I wish the Miata ran so I could drive it. At least I can ride my motorcycle a bit today.

It was one of the warmest winters on record here in eastern PA. We got almost no snow, except for the freak October storm. I never even put my snow tires on my Volvo. It's been in the 70s this week, which is really unusual. Hell, I'm heading to Florida tomorrow for a business trip. I was hoping to leave the cold winds here and head to the warm sunshine, but it's only 5 degrees warmer there than here right now!
By the way, whoop-de-do for the Blue Jays winning some games in spring training. They'd have to get by the Phillies to win the World Series, and we all know that wouldn't happen.

Ha ha. Happened in '93.
Even if they were to lose to the Hallidays (that still hurts), I'd be happy that they'd finally made the post-season again.
It snowed yesterday. Not much, but snow isn't all that common in Portland.
Still, the trend is definitely springward, and I'm excited about better conditions for finishing the garage, and getting the EX500 out from under its cover...

There was a robin in the tree out front yesterday. No sign of anything green yet, but the snow is gone.

I got the Manic Miata out for the first time this year, too. Check the fluids, turn the key, fired right up.
I sure missed that blower whine.
note to self: when winter is warm and there's no snow on the roads, winter tires wear out but quick! we were on our third season with the minivan's Michelin X-Ice tires, and i do believe i'm going to have to replace the front pair for next winter. i should've rotated them in January. :-(
The AC is so cold in my office, I have my space heater on to stay comfortable.
