Someone here posted a out a leather steering wheel cover they got from Amazon for $12 or close. It was a you-lace-it and looked great. I can't find the post. Does anyone here know where that post is?

Off to google wheelskins.....
Edit: ouch! $60? For a nicer vehicle I would, but this is a $2000 trail rig/DD.
On second thought, when i find out. Ore about the one I'm asking about, I'll compare the two. Maybe the extra $50 is worth it.
I worked for a Wheelskin W.D. when I got out of school. Never had a complaint. Glad to see that they're still around.
A ribbed steering wheel cover is great for an offroad vehicle, it helps you maintain grip even if your hands or the wheel are wet or muddy.
Edit: Also helps when driving with your thumbs outside the wheel.

I bought a cheapie leather one off eBay & recovered the Vette's wheel. It's a tedious job & took me a few days' spare time to get it done, but it was also complicated by the Vette's rim being a smaller diameter(since the stock leather was mostly gone). I had to fold the edges of the new cover inward as I stitched it, which was a PITA. It looks decent and works fine though.

Did you have a thread about it?
I'm going to have to remove the leather before I wrap it, there's a big hole at the 11 o'clock position. Basically from 10 - 12 is gone.

ooooh, if that is the case then cut the old one off by using a razor to slice the threads. Then you have a perfect template (minus hole) for cutting a new piece of leather or whatever fabric you want. The trick is to then put the new piece on a board and mark out the holes. Pre-punch everything with a nail or punch, then sew a straight line through the holes (you're not connecting anything to anything at this point, just getting thread through the holes).
Finally, put the new piece on the car and you can make one seam that is essentially a 'zig-zag' or a 'spiral' that just simply goes from thread to thread from the straight line seams you already preparred.
I really want to do this to the Saab truck, even have the new fabric, haven't found time yet.
If there was a way to search threads that you started, I could find the one I did a few years ago. I got a leather skin from Amazon, for ~$15. Aside from it not wrapping the spokes, it looked like factory wrap.

It's in my build thread, but Photobucket ate all my pics.
I put a Wheelskins on my ZAV. I'm quite satisfied with the quality. I will purchase from them again the next time it comes up.

Here's some current pics of it installed.
The lump at the bottom is a combination of where I had to fold in the excess leather from the wrap, and tucking the stitches into it.
Here's the spokes. It's not stitched in the back, just the front(to keep the same appearance) per the instructions.

Ha! That's actually my arm - I was holding the camera at a weird angle since there's not much room.
