I don't think he originally felt he was deserving of one, but after several fans started their own GFMs for him, he realized how many people's lives he has affected for the better.
It is incredibly heartening to see the outpouring of support for Steve. I hope this will be able to get him through a very rough stage in his life.

Thanks for posting that link. I wasn't aware he had opened a fundraiser but I'm glad he did. Hopefully he gets back on his feet quickly.
