Hey guys, my F350 got stolen from my shop in Winter Park last night.
It is a really clean 6-speed CCLB. 175k miles. Here is a link with some pics and the VIN.
Please keep an eye out. Thank you

Sucks man. Doubt it will get over here to Tampa, but I'll keep lookin.
Other than the pink license frame, any real identifying marks?
Man i berkeleying hate thieves. I hope they run over their own legs.
I'll look out here in Jax. Sucks.

Other then that, which would be the first thing I would remove if I stole a white super duty, is that is has a Chrome grille and LED headlights. XL (work truck spec) normally has a black plastic grille. Really minor detail though that you would have to really know Super Duty's to pick up on.
Tool box is Tractor Supply brand.
Reminds me of when my 2006 F250 was stolen out of a mall parking lot.
Hope you get yours back with everything intact.
We have a huge problem with f250 and 350 trucks getting stolen here in jacksonville.
Did anyone get any surveillance footage of the theft? Neighbors etc...

I'm down in Kissimmee. I'll keep my eyes open.
I'm a knucklehead - there's a lot of late model cars stolen in our area. How they do it? Screwdriver in key slot?
In reply to Datsun310Guy :
The f350/250's are very easy to steal. The most common practice is to break the ignition, and then swap in an ecu from one to which you have a chipped key. You then use the key that matches your newly installed ecu to turn the newly broken ignition.
The guys who steal these things look for trucks that they have ecu's for in parking lots of hotels, businesses etc. The then re-vin them and either sell them or use them themselves.
Sorry to hear. Thieves suck!
I have that same generation F250. Aren't these the ones where the ignitions get worn and you can start them with any truck key?
In reply to pimpm3 (Forum Supporter) :
Don't need any sort of ECU to steal mine. It doesn't have any security, power locks, nothing.
I've had to break into other super duty's due to locking key in. Really easy with a screwdriver.
My mistake was thinking it wouldn't happen in my part of town.
My shop got tagged with graffiti earlier this week too.
All these posts and no one commented that there's a thief somewhere that actually knows what to do with that extra pedal and the adjustable hand rest that sticks up from the middle of the front floor.
In reply to Uncle David (Forum Supporter) :
Yes, failed by what seems to be the current ultimate anti-theft device.
PS: I mod edited the first post to directly include a picture of the truck
In reply to John Welsh :
That's assuming thieves are majority young folks lol.
Thanks John. Another note I forgot about - the black plastic trim on the top edge of the tailgate is actually missing.

I'ma not try and stereotype because that's rude, but central Florida, and really all of Florida has a significant population that would both know how to drive a stick and be potentially motivated to acquire something like this. I wouldn't be worried about it in say.....Cleveland.
In reply to Mndsm :
Yes, the more, "international" the city is, the more likely to be people very versed in driving manual transmission. This is because in other countries the manual transmission is still rather popular.

I think that's a problem everywhere for that gen, especially the diesels, since they're so quick and easy to steal. We've had a bunch stolen from the parking lot at work in broad daylight. On of my coworkers was lucky that they must have had to abort before they were done, as he found his with the door lock and ignition both punched. Now he's pretty much afraid to take it anywhere, and is starting to look to replace it with something less stealable.
I hope you get yours back!

Are you insured? I'm gonna be honest, this is likely a hard recovery. The extreme "commonality" of the truck will make it that much harder.
If you are insured, start you research now trying to place a value. It should be quite high given the desirability of a truck like this and the current market climate. Head out to the big sites like Auto trader, etc and CL/FB and try to buy a similar truck withing 500 miles of you. Save those ads so as to compare them to what your insurance company offers. Be sure you are only price comparing with diesel. Try to be the same year but maybe one year older and one year newer.
Good luck!
I have one similar but not diesel and not 4 door.
In reply to John Welsh :
I pulled the ad for my low mileage RWD '02 F350 XLT CCDL 6 spd from FBM as I decided to fix a couple things on it before relisting. I had it listed at $21k but it will be higher when I relist it. When looking for comparisons for insurance you may have to broaden your search. Recently there were a bunch of F250/350 of that era but few with the 7.3.
In reply to hobiercr :
Maybe there's a synergy here. You're looking to sell and and CruiserMatt might be looking to buy with a big fat insurance check.
Not interested in 7.3's and definitely not going to have a big fat insurance check. Either way I'm looking to upgrade, not downgrade
I'm looking at 550's and 6.7 trucks (dodge and ford)
and yes, I am well aware that it will either turn up in a few days after being used to steal something else heavy like a skid steer or it's gone forever.
Super bummed for you. Keep us posted
