Just... Burnouts... A whole backyard feature for burnouts.

Obviously most of that machinery gets used for more than that, but I'm still baffled. That much room... Kart track? BMX track? R/C car track?

I've thought this for years.

  • They have wide open spaces.
  • They have big V8s and rear wheel drive.
  • They have a large population of intellectually challenged people who consume large amounts of thin, yellow beer.
  • They have an indigenous population which has been treated inhumanely and unfairly by the government and the yobbos and bogans mentioned above.

I have 6 guns, and several thousands rounds of ammunition. All of this either was, or could have been bought with zero paperwork well within the law.

Try that in Australia.

It's fun to see the threads on Speedtalk, people build engines specifically for burnout contests.

Don't they have speed cameras and crappy laws that have sucked the fun out of driving?

Don't forget about the engineer needed to certify your "modified" chassis if you intend to street drive it.

I've always said that if I were to move to another country, it would be Australia, with Iceland a close second.

Yes they do. Nobody will drive 1kmh over the limit. Even to merge. So on the highway, evey single on-ramp slows traffic by 5kmh or so. It's annoying.

I used to think Australia was 20 years behind, and better for it. Now I think they're 20 years ahead. They do have one of the world's great racetracks though.

This ^^^^. If NASCAR were even one quarter this cool, I'd watch it over anything else on television.

Question: The video shows a bunch of cool old school cars. Is that all they run (not that that is a bad thing)? Or do they run more modern cars?

Heck, with some of the aftermarket full bodies available for 60's muscle cars it seems like you could have a pretty cool series with these cars and not worry about destroying a dwindling resource. As a bonus it would create an industry for more aftermarket bodies.

You could say most of that for any place that England colonized, I think.
