Yesterday a Subaru Baja drove past me. It was silver, and had color matched painted body cladding. As most of these had two tone plastic cladding, my mind started to drift... I like Baja's in that ugly goofy but useful kind of way. I also like Rabbit Trucks and Dodge Rampages. I don't question these things, it's just how it is.
Anyways, I got to thinking.
Could you rip all the plastic BS off a baja? Lower it via Legacy bolt ons, and put on whatever smoother/slicker facia the Legacy GT had?
Has this been done?
This one has a bunch of STI parts:

I dont know enough to have your answer. but I will leave this here.

lol damn beat me to it but my link has a couple details whats on the car.
bah... after some googling, I didn't realize the baja is based off the older style '03 legacy/outback body style, not the Legacy GT of '05/'06 era.
Oh well. Looks like the metal is seriously deformed behind the cladding as well, so it wouldn't just be a pull the plastic and fill in the holes ordeal. wishful thinking.
even with the older body style... in my brain I was seeing something with the approximate stance/lines of this:

The "Baja STI" posted above is pretty neato though.
Removing the cladding really messes with the lines of the car- the bumper fit looks bizarre without it.
However, this is GRM and we highly suggest you do this project and show us the way.
The Baja is probably the same underpinnings as the Outback, which my now old research revealed has welded in spacers to raise the ride height. Getting it to GT height may be a difficult excercise.
